Can you blame him? he did what we all want to do to a diving prat. As one of the comments says, he got sent off for hitting the player, without hitting him, may as well complete the job.

Yea fair enough but no need to try and attack the referee whilst pushing and shoving other players in the process.

He's ****ing committed though! Heard a few good things about FOOTBALL WISE so could be a decent signing if we manage to pull it off.

Been linked to Douglas for a bit. Not keen on this Mariappa chap to be honest. Wouldn't be impressed if we signed him. Rather have Tomkins!

The guy dived, but he did overreact somewhat afterwards.

    look what you've started...

he's been munching through championship defenders all season.

In all seriousness, ive never heard of the guy and if he's centre half for a side that are battling relegation it can't say much for his defensive credentials. although bassong was playing for a team that got relegated and that turned out pretty well...

Gutted. I see Saggy face is chasing one I was hoping we'd be after. Then again who isn't he talking about! But young Jamie Forrest of Celtic is a cracking wide right talent. I watched him and Jordan Rhodes for the Scottish U21's against the Dutch (who had a strong side out including the likes of Leroy Fer and Ola John). They ripped them apart as the scots won 2-1 in a shock victory.

Forrest is a class act, we should try and get him in some sort of deal for Forster. Templeton of Hearts is another excellent young player. bags of pace and a good final ball, Hearts need to sell too, could get him on the cheap, would be a good squad player.

Looks like this one is going to go ahead... Signing as conpetition for Williamson apparently. Which still means we'll be heavily reliant on colo and Taylor next season for even more games. Unless someone is signed in the summer of course.

According to the echo, it's because jan vertonghen and Rhys Williams are overpriced in this window. I expect another to sign in the sunmer... And Kadar to leave.

Mariappa looked pretty good when he played for Watford in their last season in the premiership. He was probably their only player that came out of that season with any credit and there were quite a few teams looking at signing him. Haven't seen much of him since they got relegated though so I can't say whether he has progressed.

I recall that he started out as a full back and is pretty quick though so he may be being bought as a utility defender. To replace Kadar and or Perch in that role seems plausible.

Doubt his wages will be too high either. I'm ok with this signing to be honest. Better than Tomkins anyway.

Williamson isn't in the same bracket as Perch IMO. Willo is actually quite good!

Don't know about this championship lad, but if he does have pace as someone mentioned above, then perhaps he will be okay cover for Willo/Saylor. Not sure about Colo though. Seems we'd have a hard time getting anyone of his quality who's prepared to play second fiddle!

I've heard he's good at wrapping up a game in the dying stages and his pace can leaf players behind with a smoke screen of squidgy pitch flying high from the wet turf.

A simply sp(l)iffing player by all accounts. Blazin' speed as well. His mere presence can crumble an opponent to dust.
