Yes, we can realistically aspire to about 10th, same as last year.

As for needing to accept that we are not the team we used to be, maybe. With a good striker, we could realistically aspire to the last European spot. We could be the team we used to be under Roeder, though not the team we were under SBR.

I agree with this. but we're not trhe only club to not get what we wanted and we'll just have to keep our fingers crosses that we'll sign the missing piece of the jigsaw added.

Don't make the mistake of thinking Pardew is an innocent third party. He knows perfectly well what is going on and how hollow his promises are about strengthening the team. He was given a contract by Ashley to fulfil a particular brief: ie. run a decent PR operation while his boss recoups his investment so he can sell the club not having lost a penny. The truth is he has no control over transfers whatsoever.

I dont feel soory for Pardew at all, he has stated that he was friends with Ashley and Llambias and knew what type of men they are.

What I do think is that like us he has been lied to making his job difficult.

For once, NUFC need to unite WITH a manager who clearly has a ****ing **** time of things. I dont know how you make that **** Llambias accountable, or how you force Ashley to sell, but by the same token I dont recognise football any more.

Theres been alot of transfers that boggle the mind yesterday

10m Crouch scored 3 goals last year
Shaun Wheresthemoney Phillips. Chelsea taken over goes, Man City goes, QPR oh guess what hes gone there

FOOTBALL IS ****ED

Feel sorry for the fella works for an owner who has no ambition and a director who is as much use as a dog turd

Anyone criticising Pardew should remember the same problems having occurred under Hughton, Keegan and Kinnear, all under this regime. Now I don't remember anyone criticising the others. The problem solely lands with the owner bidding for a winger we knew was going to Fulham. Does anyone really believe that Llambias was texting David Craig saying he was in working on deals at 4.30 in the morning. If so why did it take us till 7.30 in the evening to make the bids for Ruiz and Ridgewell.

Whoa I have to say you're well wide of the mark with Wright Phillips. He went to Chelsea from his first club (Man City) because Chelsea offered silly money to his club and the move represented a massive step up. His career benefitted no end. Good move for footballing reasons. He then went back to City as it was his first club, he was out of favour and they were now moving in the right direction. Now he has been frozen out there and wanted some first team football. QPR came calling. The fact he has made a lot of money in the process is irrelevant, part of the job. Sorry I just think it is crazy. I agree on Crouch though and football in general. 12m is way over the top for a 31 yr old. His goal record is defendable for me. He was out of favour a fair bit last year, and has shown he can score enough goals for the role he plays in a team.

he knew what he was getting hmself into, but I still feel sorry for him. he was unemployed and gets a job offer for one of the bigger jobs in english football with the proviso that you have to work for a turd and endure public humiliation. He accepted, most of us would, but still it must be hard
