There have been many memories of Pardew, good and bad.
Plenty of good days, but, unfortunately, outstripped by the not so good.

But, to me he will always be Damned as the first Newcastle United Manager to lose Four in a row to Sunderland, three of them at home.
That will be his footnote in the history of the club.
He'll be tainted with that record forever.

I've never been truly behind him, but maybe a more sensitive side of me is coming out but at this very minute I'm feeling sorry for the guy!

His entry into the club was in itself a bad memory, coming off the wrongful sacking of Chris Hughton, a man who put a **** ton of effort into this club and on good or bad days always had the backing of the fans. It's the longest I can remember the crowd being behind a manager in recent history, and he was truly respected, despite the fact that a lot of the performances under Hughton where still poor. Pardew was clearly the guy no one wanted in, and ironically the man more favoured for the role Martin Jol, ended up at Fulham... only to quickly lead them to relegation.

A good memory was the overwhelming glee of us beating Liverpool 3-1 in his first game, and witnessing the famous Roy Hodgson face rub, I truly had us pegged for relegation, Pardew deserves credit for how easily he shifted into Hughton's job and kept us steady. We could easily have gone into free fall.

The 4-4 draw with Arsenal is simply historic, but alas... so is the 7-1 loss to Liverpool in our near relegation, Europa League season. Getting to the semi's was a decent attempt at Europe however, I felt like we really went for that trophy. The running into the crowd after we beat Fulham was also special, however that only took place because we had such a ****e season in the first place.

The problem I still have is the failure to remember a single decent memory from a derby, he was awful at managing them, seriously terrible. Considering how brilliant Hughton was at managing the derby's it made how woeful Pardew was even worse.
I think in the end, the pressure of managing Newcastle is too much for a lot of managers, we fans demand a lot, the need for a trophy is getting very strong, and the lack of Derby wins basically had Pardew down as someone the fans simply couldn't get behind. Hughton despite a lot of poor performances especially his last game against West Brom still had the fans support because of the derby's he won and the efforts put in. Pardew never accomplished that.

Hughton only managed us for one derby game.

I think we've had plenty of good memories with him charge, he's not as bad as many like to think. I just think when things were bad, they were horrendous. Four years is a long time. We needed a change and I think he realised he'd have another six more years of this. Good luck to him at Palace if he goes. He'll go down as one of our most hated managers, but nowhere near our worst.

Loads of good and bad. More than anything his brave face when facing up to the reality of the Ba, Carroll and Cabaye departures at critical moments. He looked broken every time. I reckon that and the constant flow of undeserved abuse has brought about this decision. I still think favourite good moments were when he aggressively headlocked Stone and chucked him or when ran and jumped in the crowd. Great to see real passion. The bad moments would have to be the headbutt and his beleagured look after the derbies.

There's no doubting Pardew was treat like crap by Mike but he knew the plan when he signed his 8 year deal. He didn't have to sign.
He's given us some good times too so there are some good memories too.

I wish him well and look forward to a new chapter now.
