There is the nail in the coffin. He admits the board aren't interested in the cups. And he ends by saying he is and the fans are!

Have to say he has come across very well and is clearly aware of all the issues we have from foreign overload, to not looking a threat, our desire to have a go in the cups, our desire to see football played a certain way, and the scars of Sunderland/Liverpool hat need corrected. I honestly think MA will be unhappy though, way too much heart and honesty in that. Mike would have wanted all head and sidestepping.

Anyone else reckon he clearly doesn't rate JK.

Also top class what he has done with Raylor. Poor fecker must be bursting to kick the ball again.

 

To be fair if Mike Ashley is unhappy with that, then he's a ****.

I think that's a given. I can't see him taking kindly to Pards comments. Particularly about him basically getting angry and doing silly things (Joe) Nice to actually hear him speak with the shackles off. Its almost as if he knows something is coming...................

 

I'll give him some credit after that interview. Sounded like a fan talking and he is clearly unhappy about some of Mad Mike's decisions.

Expect him to get shown the door after the next game so they can bring in someone 'more experienced'.

Strikes me as a PR stunt organized by the club, get Pardew back onside with the fans. And it seems to have worked rather well.

Say what you will, but why would Pardew come out now and appear to speak out against the board, seemingly risking being sacked? They don't want to sack him, and he's going to need all the backing he can get with our upcoming run, which could get very sticky.

 

Missed the show but just read the Pardew quotes, the one about Ashley not wanting to put anymore money is shocking to hear as a fan but full credit to Pardew for not dodging any questions and giving very honest answers.

Anyone genuinely think his job is genuinely at risk after those comments though?

To be fair, if he's telling the truth then Ashley can't disagree can he? Just hope we don't end up with Kinnear as manager.

 

Having been given an 8-year contract, he'd be an idiot to do anything other than stay! He'll make a mint come what may.
He's able to retire a very rich man and unlike we fans, only gives a toss for the club he's employed by!!
Having said that, if he was allowed to spend some cash, who knows what might happen!!

 

Just think of the pay off if Ashley decides to sack him. Was this Pardew's plan by saying what he did?

 

Pardew was honest but told us things we already knew.

 

Once people have a view on Pardew whether it be positive or negative they will then construe whatever he says to fit in with their opinions of him. I believe Pardew to be an honest man who cares for the club and if not working under the current regime I think we'd get a more consistent picture in his regular interviews with the media. Unfortunately a lot of the negativity towards the bloke comes from what he can/cannot say and not his own version of what goes on.

I know I'm in the minority here but I think he's a good manager who handles himself with dignity under extremely difficult circumstances. Unfortunately he rarely gets the credit for what he does well but gets slaughtered when results go against him.

 

This is a weird world of conspiracy! I like it though, it makes the whole thing a little more interesting. Unfortunately I think he was just speaking his mind.

 

Nope but he doesn't really have to disagree unfortunately for Pards, he just doesn't have to like what was said. I honestly believe Pards will be lucky, Mike will have him in the crosshairs. Normally I'd say it is poor form to speak ill of your boss in public, but Mike can't have the usual defence. As Pards correctly notes, when he gets annoyed by football he gets angry and reacts. I can see him thinking that Pardew is out of order. JK is my biggest fear too.
