I'd have him, but as has been said, most would be an improvement IMO.

Twitter has been bang on recently especially in relation to Fergie.

    Decent chance this is true.

If it is true, I'll go round to Tash's house and seduce Girzilla... with a pallet of chocolate, whilst shoving a baseball bat up my backside and signinig the blaydon races whilst wearing a 1920's 'flapper style' dress and a ginger Scotsman wig.

Not even Talksport have jumped on this, so I am guessing it's literally nothing.

If he has been sacked, I can unfortunatly see the club going for Pulis.

Pulis wasn't sacked the way most managers are. He argued and forced the sacking, probably to get the payout. He spoke well of us when we entered Europe, saying it was a great achievement to wish us luck. I do think he will be looked at as a serious candidate if we sack Pardew.

I'd be against it of course, but the sad truth is. He's got a better premier league record than our last 5 or so managers <doh>

Pulis?! That'd be fcking nuts! Honestly I don't care about stats on this guy - it's a step backwards. Stick him in the Mark Hughes/Steve McLaren pot.

The only "reliable" comment on Twitter is Agent86. Still claiming it will happen today.

It would be an awful appointment. But I wouldn't call it a step backwards, because Pardew is in the Mark Hughes and Steve McLaren pot.

Look at Pardew's managerial history and he has not had any major success at all. He did a good job to get West Ham up and then actually kept them in the prem. Nice work. Once again his third season, it just went all down hill. He signed players AGAIN who he didn't know where to play. Tevez and Macharano are two world class players, who he failed to make work. <DOH>

Charlton was a little tougher, he mounted a come back in the league, and was praised by the by Charlton fans, until his second season where he lost the respect of the team again and they went all the way down to where they are now.

Slight success at Southampton, but just look at what they where under Pardew, and what Adkins did. Adkins proved he was a far far superior managers and it makes no sense what so ever why we even hired Pardew, his CV is god awful. The guy is no better than Steve McClaren and Mark Hughes, all three have done **** all with there careers. Pardew needs to go, would Pulis be a step backwards? No, he'd be a step forward for me. Because while we would still play bland football, we would atleast sign players to accomodate that football style. And not to mention we would score far far more goals from set pieces. Pulis is a poor manager, but Pardew is a ****e manager. Take it for what you will.

Think this may be a tale of two cities. On the one hand, the board has to accept responsibility and give him more time (as in, the failure to strengthen is seen as the main disaster). Or the board do not feel that is the real reason and therefore have to get rid of him and accept that they made a mistake in this 8 year contract nonsense. Either way, the problem we have is that Ashley has to look like he fcked up on one hand or t'other.

I have this strange feeling - probably more hope than anything - that Ashley liked the glimmer of Champs League and hated the fact we looked so crap for so long. I just have this inkling that Ashley is more disappointed than usual because he got a whiff of what it would be like to dine at the top table and wanted it quite badly. He stuck with Pardew because it was too late to do anything and there was no guarantee any caretaker would do any better - far from it, in fact, because the last time Ashley did that we actually went down. So I think he just got us to the end of the season but I just feel as though something surprising might happen, a la Benitez + investment in the team. I don't know why, there's no reason for such optimism at all.

If Pardew is sacked and we go for Pullis I will travel into Birmingham City centre and swandive off the Rotunda. It would be a blessed release from such disgusting long ball merchantry that even Pardew would be astonished. We would also be treated to the cries of 'GGGOOOOAAAANNNNNN JOOOONNNNNN!' from Pullis when he brings Jon Walters in to lead the line next season.

So the only press reports are of a summit, crunch talks, yada yada. Ho hum. Kind of screams that MA/DL couldn't give a flying fck about the fans opinion (quelle surprise) and that they are 100% behind Pardew. So my blind optimism that maybe, just maybe, the owner had bigger dreams for this club get shot down with a gun that fires nothing but cowsh!t and horsepi$$.
