Marseille president Vincent Labrune has indicated Newcastle will have to match his valuation to sign Loic Remy.
Newcastle are willing to pay £10million but Labrune wants around £15m.
The news from France emerges as manager Alan Pardew is becoming increasingly resigned to losing Demba Ba.

Target: Loic Remy looks set to join Newcastle in the January window
Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham could all invoke the £7.5million release clause in the striker’s contract as talks over a new deal continue to stall.
Pardew hopes the Senegal striker, his top scorer with 11 goals this season, can still be persuaded to sign the contract which will finally get rid of the clause.
Pardew still hopes Remy will be competing for a place alongside Ba, not replacing him.

15m would still be worth it IMO. Quick, good finisher, good in the air.

Better than what we have now, and we need another quality striker if Ba is going.

He can play as a striker or winger. I'd maybe go up to 12m, to try and show we wont be desperate.

 

They've just plucked those figures out the air from what I can tell. Tabloids, man!

 

Rumours from London are that Spurs are going to snag him. We won't sign him, the valuations between what we want to pay and what they are asking are miles apart. Debuchy mark two.

I can't see this Remy thing happening personally, just sounds like the usual paper/twitter/media sources bullshit. If Ba went I wouldn't mind him though and obviously he can play wide which suits us better (usually from the right though where Benni is?). I'd prefer we kept Ba and signed a left winger/forward and centre back.
