The sad thing is that they are in a similar position to us at the minute, I believe they would be more then willing to rip up their structure and hand it to someone who, going on his track record will keep them in the premiership

I really don't understand why people don't rate Pulis. What does the man have to do? If Bruce left, I'd have him here in a second.

OK maybe a little melodramatic from me, and yes, he seems a capable manager. However, he's a short term appointment, not a long term one. He loves the long ball which, I hate watching. He's inevitably end up wanting more money for new players than we have available and it would all end in tears.

I'm not that desperate to just hang on in the PL for another season that Id get rid of a manager I truly admire and like, for one I know I would end up wanting to go. I also still think Brucie can keep us up and help us progress, once we have all our players back, or even just a couple of them.

I have no doubt Bruce will keep us up subject to getting some of our big players back.
However if Bruce were to go to Newcastle, Pulis would be my choice to replace him. I fear we would end up with the cheapest option out there which would probably be a left field appointment.

I too hope that Bruce doesn`t depart, given the man`s experience at this level, and the absentee`s he has for one reason or another from his squad, I`m fairly certain that he`ll turn it around, but I have this sneaky feeling that if, and yes it is `if`, Newcastle were to come a knocking then Brucie would take up the offer, which quite frankly given what`s out there would leave us up sh1t creak.

Once he gets them back he needs to decide his best 11 and a formation for his best 11. As it is at the min some of his best players have been ****e so it's important we aren't relying on them coming back to much because we've been ****e with them in

Please, anybody but Pulis, I'd rather see PB back than that!

Lazy media tag. Pulis is no more long ball and defensive than we are under Bruce.

Sherwood will go to West Brom.

Come on Pardew, get the ****ing contract signed so we can see whether Newcastle are going to declare an interest in Bruce or not.

The bigger problem with the possible departure of Bruce is less to do with his replacement, and more to do with the fact that we will now have a transfer window where some of our players may decide they don't want to work under Bruce's replacement.

It's all opinions, and everyone is entitled to one. For all we know Allam could bring in someone from the Egyptian League

Why...he established Stoke as a EPL club then transformed a poor Palace team. Apart from the top 6 there are around 6-8 clubs that are never going to get in the CL but will not get relegated(West Ham/Newcastle/Stoke/Villa/Southampton/Everton etc). I would be quite happy being one of those teams.
For me, Pulis would deliver this however, I still believe SB will also achieve this...given time with a settled fit squad

Has Steve Bruce moved house to the area?

In my opinion his tenure would be more under pressure if he has not shown the commitment to the club, that Assem wants to see, rather than the results.

The Newcastle situation could not be timed worse for us as supporters. if Steve Bruce turns down any offer, does he risk being in the management wilderness again? Lets face it, his record with us is not really all that great and managers have been sacked with better performance records.

If Steve Bruce leaves now, the club faces an uncertain future. With no funds available unless we sell players, we could see the start of a very dark period for Hull City.

    A manager who may leave.
    An owner who may sell.
No money for transfers and players who are not performing at the level their fees indicate they should.

Something needs to be done to steady the ship.

Couldn't for the life of me understand why Pardew (or anybody else for that matter)would, even considering his history, want to leave Newcastle in favour of Palace & then I saw this.

@bbcburnsy: Hull City manager Steve Bruce isn't going anywhere, that's what I've been told by one City source this morning. Good to hear. #hcafc

Just for your interest, W.Hill have the WBA job as

    Pulis 1/6
    Sherwood 7/2

The next nearest is a load of them on 25/1
