My point being (which you can't seem to grasp) is that there's no set price for what it, and isn't, a lot to spend in the EPL. It depends on the team you have.

Because the only point I was trying to make is that £20m is not alot of money(how many times?) when you consider we actually made a profit of £600k so we actually spent nothing.

If your theory was correct then the actual word "spend" wouldn't exist, because as money has to come from somewhere in every aspect of life, it would mean that no one on this planet had in theory "spent" anything.

(I resist the temptation to mention the £35m 'burning a hole' in our bank account from the AC sale) whoops!

 

They did well against Blackburn but thats the only game so far as a partnership.... dont get me wrong, long may it continue, i just want to see them perform over a stretch of games. Fingers crossed.

For me though, the injury to Ameobi has highlighted why he should never have been given a deal. I dont know what he does in training but to keep getting in the starting line up is a joke. At least with him out Pardew isnt tempted to play him.

Lovenkrands could be decent enough as back up but if we lose one to injury (best or ba that is) we could look pretty mediocre. I know we can play HBA off a lone striker as a plan B but we still need a striker in January, Ba will be off for the African Cup and so will Tiote. I suspect Gosling/Guthrie replace Tiote which doesnt fill me with confidence but with Shola or Lovenkrands replacing Ba i think we could struggle. Even a loan signing for 6 months cover would be better than these.

Lets hope Ba and Tiote come home early.

 

really? £20m is not a lot of money? maybe compared to Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool and Man city, but not very many outside the top 4 spend that sort of money.
