There will be more factors than that. I'm fairly sure that Newcastle and Sunderland are probably on equal terms when it comes to offering wages, maybe a few thousand per week either way, so there will be other factors too. Having Demba Ba, his friend and international team mate, as his strike partner must be one big lure.
Well, if we offer him 50k a week plus a chance to play with his best mate and push for Europe this season, I think he'd take that over the 10-15k extra you'd pay him tbh.
Who says Sunderland pay 10-15k more than we do? I can't imagine any Sunderland player atm being on £65k+ per week.
I feel sorry for you tbh. Your game against Chelsea, if you had a good striker you would have won 1-3. Chelsea are ****ing awful at the back. I think you could easily finish above Stoke for 8th if you had a good striker. Your defence is solid like ours, and neither of us concede many goals, but we have the up front quality. You need a good striker with Sess supporting. I think we could see both NE clubs pushing for Europa in the next couple of years.
That's the thing with Sunderland, you've had a couple of 3-4 goal wins and I don't think you's have ever lost by more than one goal. We on the other hand, have won most of our games by one goal, and have lost a few by 2 or 3, yet we're ahead by quite a bit. It's strange how these things work out!
Yes, but the only reason our conceded goals is so high is because we had to play some games without any fully fit CB's! Against Chelsea, Colo went off and we conceded a goal, and in the same game, Saylor had to go off and get treatment, leaving Perch by himself at the back, and we conceded two goals whilst Saylor was off the pitch, Against Norwich, we played 4 right backs, as we had no fit CB;s, we conceded 4 in that game. Against WBA, we had Colo back half fit, but we were still playing with a RB at CB again, and struggled to keep them out. As soon as we had two center backs playing, we've kept 3 clean sheets in 4 PL games. If we hadn't have gotten those injuries we wouldn't have conceded so much.
If we didn't have Bruce we would have played better. Fact is we had Bruce earlier, and the fact is your defence hasn't all been there. Not that ours has been as settled either mind. If we won all our games we would be top. If we lost all our games we would be bottom.
Gutted about this, would have been perfect for us. Think obviously Ba plays a big part in his decision making process (ala Gyan/Mensah/Muntari) however league position didnt help us either. Deal should have been done months ago and now we've been gazumped, ah well at least we've gpt Bendtner hahhahahah
Lets just agree that we both have good teams, and with a good striker you'd be probably challenging for 8th.
typical sunderland, newcastle are getting him for 9m euros = £7m? That's just over what we got paid for Gyan's, why have we dilly dallied with this? Failed to act quickly enough and now Newcastle have gazumped us, they're gona get into europe now, they've been massively dependent on Ba but now they've got two top class strikers and we dont have any
I think, like me, you havn't got the slightest idea what has been going on behind the scenes..We may have been trying very hard to get the lad, but he has just preferred to go where his good friend is...
