Sunderland have made an offer for Fletcher - http://www.eatsleepsport.com/sunderland/black-cats-confirm-fletcher-bid-1449198.html Elsewhere there is apparently movement on players who we have a vision of interest in: * Modric finally appears to have gone to Madrid - for £36m - which has heightened speculation making a move for Dembele. And typical of Levi for £10m !!! http://www.westlondonsport.com/paper-talk/fulham-star-wanted-by-spurs-for-10m * West Ham are considering bids for Jarvis and Rhodes . Given that WH, if you believe the media, are chasing everybody under the sun, I don't place too much reliability on these stories. It may just be Agent spin, especially since things have gone quiet on both, and in particular Rhodes.
Well after his tackle on Bale at the weekend (isn't that twice in less than a year that he's put Bale out of action?) I know where he's be best suited.
Lot of fuss about it. Like I said a week or two ago on this thread, he's a terrible tackler, and makes a lot of professional fouls. Don't think he meant to hurt Bale, just stop him. He's not smart enough or fit enough to track back and make tackles properly. Few places saying in the past hour that Dempsey has refused to fly to Switzerland with the Fulham squad. Ah, speak of the devil, you've just posted that! It is goal.com though.
True, but he wasn't on the flight to Switzeland so must be some fact in it - including the bust up with Jol if you now read between the lines in Jol's comments after the weekend game at Wycombe. Here is the goal.com article : http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896/premier-league/2012/07/30/3276041/dempsey-pulls-out-of-fulham-tour-to-force-liverpool-move
I see that West Ham have agreed a loan of Andy Carroll for £2m for the coming Season and then will buy him for £17 million if they manage to stay up. He could have been good for us but I would imagine his wages would be excessive. Just cash for Dempsey now then, if he goes to the Reds.
I'm surprised Carroll has gone there, to be honest - it looked like he was staying up north or nothing. Fair play to West Ham, great signing for them.
Looks like Dempsey is on... The club surely wouldn't have allowed the Carroll deal to become public without being confident of an imminent signing to placate disgruntled fans...
I'm inclined to think Jol is the guilty party in the argument - I can't see Clint being difficult without reason, but then that's not a hugely informed opinion.
What was the argument about? If it was Demps refusing to go to force a move it sounds like the 'blame' lies at his door.
It wouldn't surprise me- I just didn't see Clint as that type. Jol's got previous with players at Tottenham, but then Clint might be desperate to go. It's a shame- responsibility probably falls somewhere in the middle
CD "Boss, I'm not going away with the squad because I don't want to play for the club any more" MJ "Well you're still under contract, and until we accept a solid bid for you, tough ****" If that's the gist of the conversation (this is all pure speculation, of course) then it sounds like Big Mart is well within his rights to show a bit of resistance. Jol does have previous but Demps is known to want out to a bigger club (and not CL football any more, apparently) then we have to assume he's misbehaving. Shame, really.
Not just Spurs, silkship. He's managed a wee bit of history here as well (and I don't mean just with BZ). . However I'm minded about this point from NI and that this type of 'journalism' is making up catchy headlines to get as many pick ups as possible. Two things about the article are suspicious/doubtful. Firstly if it was a "bust up last Friday" why did nobody else cotton on to it in the intervening days. Secondly, would Jol really say to Etuh "stay at home and find a new club" ? In reverse order, Etuhu probably has been told that he won't be guaranteed a place or be featuring in the 2 remaining pre-season games. Who decided he should say behind we're not likely to be told but if he is leaving being in London makes more sense. We know that the Club have made Dempsey their highest contract offer ever - the 3 year plus 1 year option mentioned in the article and almost double his existing wages (not mentioned). It is pure speculation that he has rejected this. Given Jol's recent comment about disappointment with the offer to Murphy falling through at the last minute, you can undestand him being a tad upset if something similar was on the cards with Dempsey. But a public fracas at Motspur Park and Depsey refusing to go to Switzerland ? Dempsey is carrying a hamstring injury, is it not more likely that he stayed at home because he can get proper treatment there. Yeah, I know silly optimism and whatever the real story behind the headlines I'm inclined to refer to the Rev again - There is an awful lot of logic in that NI.
Allegedly ManU have made a£12.5m bid for Allen. Can't see L'pool coping with that bun fight and there is the wee question whether Swansea would be happy selling to Rodgers. Separately, there are cameras and a wodge of press outside Motspur Park this morning. Are they expecting a Dempsey announcement? Or maybe Sahin is expected for a medical.
The Beeb reports: Doesn't sound like he's on his bike just yet. The BBC is one of, if not the best source too.
