I wonder if Chelsea youth player Jake Katz would chase our Moussas around the pitch?

Like most don't know much about him. He had a extended trial with us in January and came on as a sub in a friendly against Watford and scored a goal. Something about him must have impressed Jol given that we have a reasonable trio of young strikers already - Trotta, Woodrow and Gameiro.

Is there a reason why Trotta isn't listed in the senior squad yet?

An excellent question Bidley, especially when Mesca has been given a squad number - okay he's Jol's favourite but it leaves questions. I think young Trotta may be going out on loan again.

All on here know by now my admiration for MT,but saying that I would not mind seeing
him going out on a seasons loan. But this time to a championship side,so we can then
after an extended run, look in more depth, at his possible future potential.

I suppose a spell in the lower leagues won't hurt him, but since we're light on forwards you'd think he'd get a chance... Oh well, surely this means Big Mart has his eye on a striker or two...

    Yossi Benayoun

Sky are reporting our interest in taking him on loan with a view to a permanent deal later. Given his age (32) can't see where a permanent signing fits in. Sounds more like Jol stacking up candidates in the off chance we lose Dembele (and in this case a short term fix).

Even if the worst comes to the worst I think there are better options.

Perhaps he's more of a replacement for Danny? Maybe he'll play deeper in his old age.

If we're going to take an older player on to replace DM in the short term, we could find a lot better and more experienced than Yossi. He is a decent player though.

Just heard on Sky Sports News that we're also interested in signing Andrei Arshavin. Again I'd rather sign someone younger and more consistent.

I saw an article that Blackburn were interested in Hughes. Where did you see QPR?

I'm reluctant to read too much into all the Dembele rumours - notice how they've all popped up when all the Dempsey stuff goes cold.

Hughes would be an odd signing for, well, Hughes. He's a good player, don't get me wrong, but poaching our old players is certainly an odd approach.

Without giving any names away, Jol says he's looking to sign a striker and a Midfielder -

    http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11661/7945968/

Assuming his comments have been reported correctly, I found it interesting that he said, "Diarra can do the (murphy) job" and "Etuhu is still here".

Arshavin seems to me to be a very moody player, and I think he is Money orientated, and that we couldn't afford him.
For me it's a no go, as we have both Simon Davies and Duff who on their day can be better than him, plus Kacaniklic and Frei.

As you can see from the first Post in this thread where I have kept a log of paper talk on transfers to us,
and so far not many paper stories have got any signings correct. Unless there is going to be a last minute mad dash.

My worry on the Dempsey and Dembele is that we will lose them both late in the transfer market, when clubs
have lost out on their preferred players, and are looking to snatch late replacements, and we will have to get
in last minute replacements ourselves. May be this is when the likes of Chadli or Rhodes will be taken up, but more
likely to be some of the loan players mentioned.
