So now we know why there were so many pathetic performances from mercenaries who didn't give a damn about Sunderland. The money was great and helped them to a playboy lifestyle and that was the only reason some of them turned up for the matches but not necessarily the training sessions. More like a holiday camp than a professional regime.
Lets hope PCD gets shot of the dross regardless of their ability and Short supports him financially. We need more like Colback who gives his all for Sunderland every game. he may not be as talented as some but red and white all through is more important in my eyes.

Before commenting on the actual basis of the interview, can I just say that no matter what his interviews are compelling.
Far too often in the past with SAFC managers I start to listen, then my mind wanders to other things, as to a man they have droned on from the football managers handbook, (Excuses for every result!) much like Partridge at the scum. They gave us no insight into what was going on at OUR club. There only interest was in covering their own arses.
Any other manager doing that interview, I would have clicked it off, as it would have been the same waffle as every other interview they ever gave.

PDC is not only a breath of fresh air, he quite clearly is going to be a whole new broom.
He is quite right, the least we can expect is professionalism from our EMPLOYEES!
Some players seem to think they are untouchable and can do what they want.
They are doing a job most of us would do for free, getting obscene amounts of money for very little talent in most cases.

One of the highest paid players in the World, not every ones cup of tea, but the consummate professional and a man I have a lot of respect for. Who even though one of the top players in the game stayed behind after normal training and practised and practised things he thought he could improve on, for hours on end. Not his words but Gary Nevilles! If David Beckham can still make the effort to be professional at the very top of his game, the least we can expect from our water carriers is at least half that effort.

I have a feeling sometime in the future, PDC is going to over step the mark mind!
He is going to have a go at at a player who will give him a smack for being so blunt with him.
Tough titty, if they want to be prima donnas they can go elsewhere.
More power to your elbow Paolo.
By the way you're spot on about the PFA and their defence of the indefensible, you're correct mate they don't pay their wages the ****ing club does.

This may all be another false dawn for SAFC! (**** me the ****ers have had me turned inside out for 50 years.)
The one thing this wont be is boring. :p

Even if he doesn't bring us success, I think he will leave us as a club in better shape than before he arrived.

I remember hearing about Beckham doing this, years ago. Was very impressed and just showed that he wasn't born with all that talent (despite what alot of people say, the man was a very good footballer), he worked hard to refine what he had, and due to that practise got 20years out of it, and is a worldwide name (and brand). I would be stoked if i had heard that a youngster, or even a seasoned pro decided to stay a few hours after knock off at the AoL to practise free kicks, dribbling, penalties etc. If I had the chance, I would never be off the damn pitch.

    My feelings exactly mate.
I was never more than a water carrier myself, 24 hour training wouldn't have improved my football skills.
Beer,***s and determination was all I needed to take the more skilful players out of the game.
Oh and a huge pair of boots.:p
I can't understand why any half decent player isn't determined to improve on what they already have.
I drone on about this about the bad old days at SAFC, we cheered off **** teams for the effort they had put in on the pitch not the football. Pretty much the SPuds match showed the same thing, outclassed all over the pitch but grit and determination was broken down by a hell of a goal from Bale.
At this time we have players that can clearly improve and we have seen changes since PDC came.
Colback for one is looking more and more like a good footballer.
With a little bit more effort and confidence building I think he could turn into our half way decent Scholes.
And no I'm not claiming he is the next Scholes, but a possible in that mould.
He already has the odd rash challenge down pat!!!! hahaha
