The thing that really pisses me off about PDC is it could have worked. I loved that he cracked down on the players, many of them seem to think all they need to do is a couple of hours at the AOL each day. Thing is he went about it in the totally wrong way. I remember Fat Twat Brazil going on in the summer. If PDC uses the same methods at Sunderland he used at Swindon the players will kick off. (or words very similar) Di Canio was warned what would happen if he tried to change things to quick. He did it anyway thinking he was bigger than the players and bigger club. He left us in a shambles. He left his credibility in tatters and worst of all. He proved the gutter press were right about him all along.
First and Second division players are a different proposition from the pampered millionaires in the Premiership but I take your point. It may have worked for him if they were 'his' players at the club and not Bruce's or MON's because they would have signed for him knowing his terms. In his first three games, Chelsea, Newcastle and Everton we looked a team, especially against the mags and Chelsea, but he set his teams up to get four into the box which always leaves you vulnerable at the back. It was a bit like Keegan's cavalier style of management, if the opposition score three we will score four, except we don't have the players to score four.
