Honestly, it's not just a reaction to 5-0. Last season we got stuffed 1-6 by Man City and I was actually happy because I thought we played very well and with a bit of luck we could have gone from 1-2 to 2-2 and then it was game on. What worries me about what I've seen so far is that we're not playing well. The joy hasn't been there. I know that might sound strange, but I think the sense of joy and freedom has been such an important part of taking us from where we were to where we are.
Now, maybe, we can't rely on that momentum any more, and we need to change to a more measured and cautious approach. Perhaps that is what is happening and Hughton has ended up being the person who is responsible for doing this.
