Supers, I hope this is a stage in our development. Sometimes when you try to change things, they actually get worse at first. Before they get better. Honestly, it's not just a reaction to 5-0. Last season we got stuffed 1-6 by Man City and I was actually happy because I thought we played very well and with a bit of luck we could have gone from 1-2 to 2-2 and then it was game on. What worries me about what I've seen so far is that we're not playing well. The joy hasn't been there. I know that might sound strange, but I think the sense of joy and freedom has been such an important part of taking us from where we were to where we are. Now, maybe, we can't rely on that momentum any more, and we need to change to a more measured and cautious approach. Perhaps that is what is happening and Hughton has ended up being the person who is responsible for doing this.
This is the nub of the matter. One of Lambert's most frequent comments was "The lads play without fear". For the moment at least that fearlessness has been lost. I don't find this surprising, and I don't think it is to do with CH and his staff specifically. I think it would have manifested itself this season even if Lambert had stayed. Not quite sure how to express it, but I'd say it is the realisation that the fairy tale has ended. I think we fans need to recognise it as well and give the lads total support however badly things go short term.
Exactly - the team needs to rediscover the manner in which they approched games last season and quickly. Let's raise the roof at CR on Saturday and support our team regardless of the score.

Very good point. I think for the past two seasons we have had nothing to lose in a way and that enabled us to play without fear. Suddenly, having finished mid-table in the Prem, we DO have something to lose, and that's bound to have an effect on our psychology as both players and fans.
'Panick' was the original spelling of the word, like 'frolick'. I think they got standardised in the 17th century. So just tell the language police that you're 400 years old or that you prefer to use Shakespearean English rather than the cheapened version that's around nowadays.
Chill out VC, I'm just having a bit of fun with Dave! Anyway the OXFORD ENGLISH DICTIONARY has it as PANIC, (sudden strong fear) the only time it has a "K" is in the past tense, ie, PANICKED! (to be affected by Panic). Not quite 400 years old but getting there quickly. ILD OTBC
