**** knows but its worrying me a tad, the longer you think about these words tha calmer you get, maybe what he is saying is we about to spring into life one way or another
Is it just me or do all our transfer windows seem haphazard and mis planned. With what is at stake we should have multiple plans and targets. We need to be utilising our scouts to get us quality through the door. The last few seasons have shown we need a new approach and a different strategy and I'm not sure congerton is the right man for the job. If we're going to have a dof we need one with a provan track record at the highest level
I thought Gus was promised the financial backing from Ellis before hes took the job. I thought the targets were identified with the board. So far only Borini has rumoured to be stalling, so why aren't the rest even near being signed up ?
Every window we seem to drag our feet. We need football people at the top of our club who know the game and what's needed to succeed. Since Quinn left there isn't really any football knowledge on the board and for me it's sourly missed
Well to be fair, and if Gus' hands are now suddenly tied, I wouldn't blame him for walking away...or at least to be knocking Ellis' boardroom door down !!
Just seems a bit twatty at the moment. Unless they have something up their sleeve, we are going to look like idiots. Are Borini & Alonso our only other targets? If so, we have a problem as it was never guaranteed we'd get them. Worrying...
I don't think Congerton is up to the job. just have a look at Hamburg for **** sake. Bunch of ****ing monkeys at Sunderland.
At least De Fanti last year was able to get in the likes of Giacherrini, Borini. Congerton needs to start earning his corn. Seems everyone is making good signings at the moment apart from us, I was very postitive when the season finished in May as I thought that we would kick on from that because of the miraculous job the club had done. Oh well fingers crossed time again.
I'm not sure if he's up to the job or not, which was why I was asking the question on the thread I opened yesterday, about his track record. My concern is we've put our faith in someone who's just not up the job.
There's still a lot of clubs around the world trying to offload players before the start of the season that would probably fit in nicely. All good things Keep the faith.
Don't see what all the panic is about..We finished the season very strongly and have some cracking youngens who are knocking on the door of the first team. Apart from that, I still expect to see a couple more signings at least...I reckon we could be in for a cracking season..
Jesus, anyone would would think WW3 was about to start. We have already signed 3 players and who knows, this time next week we might have Borini, Cristian Rodriguez and this morning we have been linked with Joel Cambell of Arsenal. Poyet might be playing mind games here. Keep the faith everyone.
As far as we know we could've negotiated with a number of players and been towards the final hurdle - no-one at SAFC publicises our dealings. Rodriguez appears to be the Borini answer. I am getting nervous now - 3 weeks on Saturday the season starts and we've signed 3 players but need more to beef us up. God knows what's happening - but I'm still excited about the start of the season
It seems that way but I don't believe it's actually the case. We have to remember that Sunderland were in no position to talk to possible targets, not even Borini/Vergini/Alonso, until virtually the end of the season ........ other clubs, like Newcastle, knew what division they'd be in so could offer Premier League football. We could have been offering players a trip to Brentford
Well another week or so has gone, pre season has started in earnest, I was pretty much shot down on our paper thin squad and the fact gus sunning himself in Brazil, I eluded to borini and alonso we couldn't get over the line, well that's starting to look doomed, plan b and c please. Can see end of September, "well the new players didn't have a pre season"blah blah.
