Looking at various other websites I have noticed a rather large division between the Gill's faithful. "Hessanthaler is terrible get him out blah blah blah"as well as "Hessenthaler needs some time blah blah blah" not only that but Our chairman is also in for some what of a backlash from angry supporters. I myself after the Dover catastophe ,at the time thought Hessenthaler should go I WAS WRONG, ever since The "pulis era" we have had far too many changes at various levels, just look at the likes of Man U, how long as Sir Alex been there!! So as For Hessy he stays and given some time and the right funding promtion is a reall possibility(out of the players HE brought in last season how many would you as a fan want too keep) I'm thinking quite a few.

Moving on to Mr Paul Scally, remember Priestfiled might be a car park or a supermarket if it was not for him, money is tight for all so hang on the sigings will come and this is where Hessenthaler will prove his worth, he knows what pressures are on him and he is a better manager than the last time he was with us(Don't like player/managers just doesn't work) Good luck on and all and UP THE GILLS

James, excellent thread, you are a man of my own heart. Many people say that football is game of opinions and everyone entitled to there own and Scally will always divide opinion, but to my mind without him we may have no club to support at all! And Hessy well I cant say that I was over impressed when we was reappointed, but it cant be argued that he broke the away day hoodoo, now he just needs to get Priestfield to be a fortress again because in the end it was the home form that did for us and prevented qualification for the play offs. This summer he needs to get the new recruits right, I am in mind to compare this to Scally and Pulis's first summer, then we bought in Jim Stannard, Mark Harris, David Martin and Leo Fortune West all for next to nothing and then added Simon Ratcliffe and Dennis Bailey, what we need now is the year 2011 equivalents to these players and I am sure they must be out there, we have the nucleus of a decent team, but we do need 5-6 players in key positions right through the spine of the team. Goalkeeper, Centre Half, Centre Mid and 2 strikers minimum, I am not going to name players, but there are plenty out there, most importantly they must possess the drive and desire of the Pulis signings, these weren't necessarily the most talented players in the league, but they played to their strengths and we were hard to beat, We showed signs of that on the road last season, but Hess needs to gave a definite game plan and a plan B if this isnt working, he played under Pulis and Taylor and hopefully has learnt something from both.

this is where the non league players come in a lot of people keep saying that they're not worth bothing with but atleast they will be hungry to prove themselves in league football and to show they are worthy of their place. otherwise we could end up with the lomas and mccammons of this world again who are just looking for another paycheck and unfortunatly paying them off is still having an effect now

Also keep in mind that there is also the possibility of getting in loan players, maybe young players from Championship or even Premiership clubs, who would be anxious to show their employers that they're worth keeping. However that might also depend on Hessy putting together a team that plays football in the style that would benefit the player's experience.

On the Feguson issue, yes he was given time at the start, but not an eternity. He's stayed in the job for so long because whatever his other shortcomings he's a brilliant manager and tactician. And there is a difference between being given time to succeed and simply succeeding not to fail.
