Flares: goal music for away fans. How did they get them in? Why were they all wearing black? I just about managed to dodge the away fans at London Bridge with their police protection on the way there. Could have been forced to travel with the whole lot of them... doesn't even bear thinking about. Disappointing that the goal was wrongly disallowed, but in all fairness, Palace were the better side up to their goal. What worries me (from a Charlton perspective) is that I think they were the worst side I have seen this season but they managed to do enough to win the match. Performances seem to have dipped massively as the season has progressed. I had thought Powell would be able to use the two weeks to build back up confidence and performances, but it seems not to have worked, and we're becoming too predictable. All said though, we could well have picked up the point. Long balls to Yann aren't working as well as they did last season, so we need another approach. The tight midfield worked well at Birmingham and might work as a tactic against certain opposition, especially away from home, but it's not working right now. Green looked up for it when he came on. Maybe it's time to give him a start. Will also be interesting to see how Powell deals with Wiggins' injury as he's such a big loss. Solly did well, but as an attacking full back he'll have to cut back far too much to be effective. Maybe I've gotten too used to the likes of Oldham and Tranmere, but to be fair to Palace, I thought they didn't waste that much time considering. Palace fans were alright, fairly loud, seemed to be enjoying themselves, but they didn't compare to the visits in League 1 of bigger clubs like Leeds, Brighton, Hartlepool and Norwich.
I travelled with the palace fans on the way back to London bridgeand just laughed at them.....either posh boys or kids very funny
