Thats true, but the problem is for all of this season he's been ****e and produced 0 evidence of that flair. He was good at Palace, but we need to see a lot more of it than we have done this season. I agree with Mr Hat that he really should be on the wing. All of his best play comes when he drops deeper and gets a bit of space. He's actually quite good at playing people in when he does pass the bloody ball. But in far too many games this season, he's been a complete waste of a player, not getting in the game at all.
Like I said before, you must have been in agony watching us for the last 10 years or so, and we haven't done too badly without these 'goalscoring strikers'. What did you make of that season when we went down after Andy Payton got 25 goals?! Footballs about the team above everything else.
I think he's been lacking consistency but that happens when you don't always play especially with somebody like him who is a bit tricky and clever. I hope he gets a lot more involvement next season and also Brady as these two for me are ones that can give a team a bit of unpredictability, Brady has been unlucky with injuries of course.
Your philosophy is absolute bollocks! We survived (just) in our first season in the Premier League and got relegated the next. This season we are in danger of going down again and you reckon that's OK because we 'haven't done too badly without these 'goalscoring strikers'? Whereas football is a 'team' game the object is to score more goals than the opposition and, imo, Aluko (who's theme tune is "I did it My way") is NOT a 'team' player but puts himself above everything else. He makes one pass and everybody is raving about him but nobody mentions the innumerable times Jelly has been screaming for the ball but Aluko totally ignored him. I couldn't 'watch' the season we went down when Andy Payton scored 25 goals because there were no live telecasts or broadcasts then here in Oz. You are suggesting that I would like a team consisting purely of 'goalscoring strikers' which is ridiculous. We need a team that HAS 'goalscoring strikers' up front and Aluko (who is an attacking winger), Sagbo and Hernandez aren't whereas Jelly and N'Doye are but with Jelly playing on one leg for most of the season and N'Doye a January signing they haven't been able to 'bond' yet. I believe they will be a formidable strike force when they do.
I think he is consistent and predictable. He always loses the ball in the same way, then waves his arms at the ref and pulls that stupid face in a half-hearted appeal for a free kick when he knows full well he just bottled the challenge. How many good games has he had this season? I reckon Palace is probably the first. He's had so many poor games in that time. No doubt he's got the talent but through a combination of being played in a completely unsuitable position, and having a pretty crap attitude he achieves very little when he's on the pitch.
