Looking at the detailed feature the BBC Football website has put up, the match facts turned out to be interesting. Apparently, the teams have met 50 times, with Saints winning 31 times and Palace 23. I didn't realise Forbes Phillipson-Masters was at Saints that young!!! I remember a lad called Le Tissier, but he wasn't hyphenated (pedant exits stage right) Anyone else remember the poshest name in football, Forbes Phillipson-Masters?
Again? That'll be the third time in under six weeks wont it? (Cardiff, West Ham, Palace?) It's like buses... Criticise the FL show all you like people, but I think we have to give the BBC some credit here. They certainly aren't ignoring us with their radio coverage.
Walcott was quick, Bale was strong, Chamberlain was quick and strong - I don't think it's a coincidence. Lallana was neither and stayed put. By the time he gets noticed, he'll be like Jack Wilshere i.e. too expensive for anyone to consider buying him for what he actually is. The media won't pay him a scrap of notice until he starts dominating teams and I predict it will be a while before he can do that. He's a local lad and I can't see him not signing a professional contract at 17. Once that happens, we can demand big money and no-one will pay that unless he's tearing the league a new one. For a small lad playing CM, it's unlikely to happen straight away. It's unreasonable to expect him to come in at 16 and play like Xavi from the off. Xavi himself took ages to mature as a player. I do think he'll come good, but I don't think he'll explode on to the stage like Walcott, Bale and Chamberlain. When he comes good though, I think he'll come very good. Bale and Walcott are both quite one dimensional. Lallana certainly isn't and I don't think JWP will be either.

I hate that boom boom when people are listening to music on the bus. If I was Nige, I'd make them all turn their gizmos off and start reading books.
