Spot on team (Or that is who I would play). I don't think Forte and De Ridder would be a good front pairing. Secondly I do not think de Ridder is disciplined enough to play in midfield and is more effective further forward. However, it sounds like Barnard is playing, so maybe Lambert will be on the bench. I also wonder if Richardson will start. Also, I know a lot of people are not too worried about the cup, but we may well not end up in the top few of the league and we are only two games away from the semis. Man City anyone?!!
On the basis I'm seemingly the only one to have mentioned it, I take it I'm wrong about Holmes being injured at the moment? For whatever reason, I had it in my head that I'd read that he'd picked up a little niggle during the international break and that his non-appearance in the squads for Derby, West Ham and Reading (despite Lallana still being unavailable) all presumably confirmed this.
..tomorrow night against Palace. I'm going so interested to see how he gets on. (Source: Radio Solent) Thoughts?
Brilliant, it's always nice to see a youngster comes through. I'm also going tomorrow so it'll be interesting to see how he does.
But he hasn't had a song made up about him yet. Ward-Prowse Ooooh Ward-Prowse, Ooooh He's tricky on the ball He'll soon sign for Arsenal
The old Claus song for James? "Ward-Prowse! In the middle of midfield! Ward-Prowse! In the middle of midfield!"
Against Preston we wen 4411 with Reeves behind the main striker. Wouldn't mind seeing that again seeing as Reeves did really well then. Getting him and JWP involved would make selections more interesting and give us some options for when games come thick and fast.
We'll know the full starting XI way before tomorrow night at this rate. Five confirmed so far (Bart, Martin, De Ridder, Ward-Prowse, Reeves), just six to go.
is reeves confirmed? cant wait to see JWP, heard alot about him, so much said about the next crop of youngsters il be glad to see them get a run out.
From Twitter: MatthewLeGod (FM Saints Researcher): "Ward-Prowse, De Ridder, Bialkowski, Martin and Reeves will all be starting for #saintsfc on Tuesday night in Carling Cup vs Crystal Palace."
OK, I can't find the Ward-Prowse thread from earlier [was it deleted or merged.?], so I'm putting this link here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15432969.stm And here's just the audio: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15436411.stm Apologies if already posted.
Fantastic news for the lad and great to see yet another youth player come through our ranks. He follows fellow youth player Sam Hoskins in making his debut in the cup. I have seen him play before with a mate that knows him, he has an impeccable 1st touch, great vison and an eye for a goal. Good luck to him COYR!
Errr... already being discussed on another thread, mate. http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/95825-Team-for-Tuesday When you have some good/great/interesting news, later on during the day you've seen it, assume someone else has seen it first, and check..!
