This is the biggest scam in the history of football. I'd love him to prove me wrong, but in my eyes he's not worth half that. I think he's over rated just because he's English and has a couple of tricks.
I took a bit of stick down here a while back suggesting that Zaha wasn't as good as everyone was drooling about. I said it again last week after we'd beaten Blackpool up there, and added that Tom Ince was a better prospect - I still think that. Zaha is like a bottle of fizzy pop that goes all over the place when you shake it a bit. Ince is more like a smooth bottle of Nuits Saint George. Smooth as silk and will get better with age. I'd take Ince over Zaha anyday and probably at half the price. Both 20 years of age and Ince will prove the better buy no question.
Zaha did nothing for 89 minutes at our place apart from fall over a lot and complain like a puff. Then he almost nicked an undeserved winner in the 90th minute. Still don't see what all the fuss is about - £15m is a **** load of cash for such an enigma.
Our RB Kev Macnaughton has had him in his pocket this last couple of seasons. So much so that he changed wings at the CCS a few weeks back to try his luck on the other side. He's quick, there's no doubt about that, but if you rattle him - and Kev did rattle him - his head goes and he loses the plot. We tried to take Ince out of the game at Blackpool by putting 3 players around him, and still he retained the ball and kept his cool. His finishing let him down a couple of times, but on that cabbage patch of a pitch they call Bloomfield Road, he'd have been better off with a rotovator.
I'd agree worst pitch I've seen in long time, bordering on dangerous. Steve Bruce was suitably disgusted with the state of the pitch!
Zaha waa rubbish at our place - Chester had him in his pocket - he couldn't even make the injury time pass count on a one on one thank God agaisnst Stockdale. Ince looks a lot more cultured footballer.
To swing this debate on its head this highlights how good, and how important a proper youth academy and scouting network is. If we go up I hope we don't splash it all on playing staff and rather spend most of it on a proper infrastructure and hopefully within a few years we can start to see youngsters like these come through our own academy and go to Manchester united and arsenal for 15 million.
The trouble is the £10-15m so called gifted kids don't come around very often and in Palarse's case they nurtured him for ten years... In Zaha's case I would be interested to find out what the initial down payment by Manure was - reckon knowing Fergie it'll be no more than £5-6m.
I wish we'd done that first time round - banked the cash, enjoyed the season, built some top facilities with indoor pitches etc. I think our current training facilities are pretty poor versus most other teams?
I'd even say Albert Adomah at Brizzle is better than Zaha. Adomah, Aluko and Ince are all better. I'd say Ince was the best out of them, but I can't see the grit determination in Zaha; he does something wrong or receives a hard challenge, he disappears for the rest of the game. I'm sure SAF will turn him into a great but, £10m plus £5m add ons is just wrong.
You're purposely missing out Knocks Seriously, though? Adomah? On par with Dyer. All the pace in the world but no end product.
I agree with you, I think Ince looks a hell of a player and Zaha well, he wins a lot of penalties... But I find it hard to ever doubt SAF, he'll end up being right I'm sure. Aluko isn't in the same league as Ince, Zaha or Knockaert by the way. Except for literally of course, he does actually play in the same league as all of them. But you know what I mean.

According to SSN Palace have had a bid for Albert Adomah turned down. They spent some serious. Holloway always seems to find gems as well.
