JR not making the World Cup squad won't have helped our case for getting top dollar, however bizarre that decision is! Regarding that WC decision though, we have to ask about the influence Dave Watson must have had. Maybe JR is lacking something still (perhaps his "spring" is not quite what it was before his injury) but I do find it really surprising.
I realise due to Woy's decision, we won't get much more than £6M to £7M for him, but and it's a BIG but, does JR want to leave - I think NOT, though not prepared to bet on it.
Sorry to say it but you'll be lucky to get £5m. Woy's decision is based on the fact you want winners in the side and not losers and Ruddy certainly won't be going to a top six side because although he was a good keeper he hasn't shown it much this season and has been as defeated as any other player. The positive stuff - the performance against Liverpool stands out - was not down to the goalkeeping. For me Fer is the only potentially really valuable player in the squad, most of the others have wiped millions off their value this season.
I say we lend Rudd to a top championship side, don't put in a clause that says he can't play against us and instruct him to ship loads of goals.
