First I would like to thank Joe (Greenarmyjoe) for all the work he has done in previous years organizing and running our Prediction League. Joe will not be doing the job this season because of family commitments which will need his weekends kept free. Joe is still keen to participate in predicting results still, so we welcome him to do his best predicting but without the hassle of adding everyone's scores up and of course dealing with any queries that may occur.....THANKS JOE.
A few rules so we all play on a level playing field.
!...Argyle being in Division One...so all our predictions are for that Division.
2...First thing predictors must do is to decide Argyle's position at midnight on 31/12/20...if you are spot on you will get a bonus of 100pts... otherwise the nearest will receive a bonus of 75pts.
Also Argyle's position at the end of the season after the last game...if you are spot on you get a bonus of 125pts... otherwise the nearest will receive a bonus of 100pts. Play-offs are not included.
3...Scoring...3pts for each correct result and score...a correct result with a different score receives 1pt.
4...Each player has one joker which they put against one game each week....and that will double there score for that game.
5...At times you will be able to choose the first goal time on another match...spot on will be 10pts within 5 minutes plus or minus will get 5pts.
6...Please put your predictions down in the same order as shown on the BBC website ( at times they will be out of alphabetical sequence because of a match having an early kick-off...which then will be shown first)...this makes it easier for predictions to be checked.
7...The Argyle game will also need you to predict the time of the first goal (either side can score it) correct time wins you a bonus of 5pts....otherwise nearest will receive 3pts...You can also predict a 0-0 result by putting a no goals down as ...0 mins.
8...All predictions must be posted before kick-off times.
We will also have wildcard moments....some weeks you might get an extra joker to use....or double or treble pts for your total that week.
We will at times predict a selection of FA Cup matches....for this we will also take into account predictors who support other teams....and add their team to any Cup predictions we do. All cup match results are the score after 90 mins only.
Games spread over a weekend will all be marked at the end of the weekend...so maybe no results at times shown on a Saturday evening.
IMPORTANT....after the scores have been added to your totals...please take note of any instructions for the coming week....such as...two jokers or double pts etc.
ALSO you need to be on your toes and watch for odd games spread out over the week....this generally happens for rearranged matches as the season progresses.
Cancelled games score no pts.....(they will show up later to be predicted on anyway).
Cancelled games with jokers on....you can move your joker on to another match...if this happens late and you don't notice...I will move it to the next game down after kick-off for you.....or if it is the bottom game I will move it to the next available game at the top .
Please ask if you are not sure of anything....I apologies in advance if I have omitted anything.
