I agree Tony. I have deliberately stayed away from the match thread for this reason. The individual mistakes were devastating to be sure, and I'm sure the players don't need to be told. As we don't play again until a week from tomorrow, there is time to integrate Klose into the defence and for Tettey to recover from his illness. We missed him big time and to play an AM in his place was suicidal against Liverpool. Why not Mulumbu as the replacement DM? It was also a pity that Wisdom wasn't eligible, given that AN wanted the more mobile Martin at CB.
On the plus side, we scored 3 cracking goals and finally got a penalty - the first this season! Naismith fitted in from the start and can build on that before the Spurs game. He seems to be an AM and second striker rolled into one and that could make all the difference for the rest of the season.
I think the 3 points could have been saved by basic game management. at 3-1 up we should have been looking to slow the game down and break it up as regularly as we liked. Also, with a very lenient referee on the day we would have been allowed a few fouls.
