Pace, pace and more pace

I have a bad feeling about this.
It depends whether Chambo stays. I can't help but think back to Walcott. He had pace, and frequently tore past defenders, but I think that at Chambo age, he didn't have the same control and finishing. If Alex leaves, there would be a massive hole to fill. Forte is fast and young. Great impact player, he will get better at the control side.

Forte is 24, so is unlikely to improve that drastically in the future. I do agree with you though that he could be a good impact player.
Walcott has pace, skill and ability with his feet, but his instincts are more those of a striker than those of a winger. After all, he came through the ranks as a goalscoring striker. He's pretty good at timing his runs, beating the offside and getting into the box. A lazy manager (Redknapp I think) looked at his obvious attributes, saw he was a bit lightweight and put him on the wing. I'm surprised Wenger didn't notice him as a striker in his kick abouts with the reserves. The criticism he gets about his decision making and the difficulty he has finding the right cross is very harsh as he is a square peg in a round hole.
Chamberlain on the other hand is more of a natural winger. He's more of an enigma than Walcott. He's learnt some tricks from Lallana too, which will help him on enormously.
Agree. Forte has loads of pace, but I look at him and think he's not got the quality or the footballing intelligence for decision making. Coming off the bench with pace could be useful, but I think he is too easily sussed out by a good defender.
