He did make a redemption,by refusing to score against us, and his being distraught when his team Leicester, scored against us.Beckford?
Bobby Collins was £25k. No idea what that would equate to today but it was a bargain

Indeed, and more equivalent to a Pablo in being near the end of his career. Giles was only 23 when we bought him for that princely sum.
Not a like for like because not a free... but We got strachan for £200k when his career was supposedly tailing off. Similar effect of a guy who gelled a team and led by example.
Snodgrass was £35k and Beckford £45k absolute steals. Kisnorbo was a free, we actually need that scout here now

I don't know how accurate it is. I guess we must have had to pay something because of his age.
Morning all. It was a lot of money at the time considering his age, but I thought he was still one of the best inside forwards in the country. It turned out to be the best investment Leeds could have made. He was the leader that the young Leeds team wanted he made them into a real team.
