Serious question.......
Does anyone know when the retained list is to be announced ?.......
According to Ainsworth's comments after the Barnet disgrace, Gills need massive changes to achieve a top-half L2 place..... So - with that in mind, I fail to see that there needs to be ANY delay in dishing out the P45s.................If Ainsworht says that massive changes are needed - he must have a good idea of several (many), that need to be sacked.....................

....If there are to be massive changes, I expect MANY to be gone --- if, as I suspect, we still have Hutton ( Mr. Lazy-with-a-5hit-throw ), or Brian (The snail - from the Magic Roundabout )- Clark , in the starting 11, then Gills can expect a barrage of crosses and goals conceded AGAIN.....and I don't want to see Mr. Giraffe in a Gills shirt....Little is not captain material..... I am frustrated with Andy Smith - he has occasional good games - but can be truly awful other times...Cerino - lightweight... Antwi - who ??
I hope Masterson stays fit for next season - it's been obvious that he wasn't match-ready when he made his comeback.... Johnny Smith - bye !.... Beckles - forgotten what he looks like.... Morris - hasbeen ( not a typo ) a good servant - but is now too slow to command his penalty area... Turner probably plays golf better than he can kick a ball.

So - Mr.Ainsworth - I have done my bit to assist you with some names..... I appreciate that it probably doesn't match your massive list..... do tell us.

I believe there was 16 players out of contract in the summer with Dack having already signed a new deal and Sam Vokes announcing yesterday he is to retire after the Shrewsbury match we already know the destinies of two of the 16. How GA has spoken in interviews it suggests that Armani Little will sadly be here next season (which I don't agree with) and it is like that Garath McCleary also. I think it's fair to say we can assume that both Elliott Nevitt & Marcus Wyllie also won't be here next season after their loans to Cambridge and Ebbsfleet respectively. So that leaves us with 10 who I believe are:

Glenn Morris
Jake Turner
Max Clark
Conor Masterson
Jonny Williams
Josh Andrews
Aaron Rowe
Euan Williams
Shadrach Ogie
Stan Skipper
Lenni Cirino

Add to that Travis Akomeah will be returning to Watford there is a good chance we can offload at least 13 players (including Vokes retiring). I've heard rumblings that Max Clark has already been informed he won't be here next season which may reflect some of his poorer performances recently. Of course there could well be some of those above offered new deals but I don't think any of them can really stand tall and suggest they've earned a new deal, maybe Morris to be a backup keeper but thats it. Turner at his age needs to be a number one somewhere as stopping and starting like this isn't any good for his development. Masterson whilst is a very good defender has missed about 70% of this season and over 50% of last, quite simply we can't afford to have a commodity like that keeping our physios busy. Jonny Williams simply just doesn't have it anymore and his £4.5k a week can easily be spent on better. The less said about Andrews and Rowe the better. Euan Williams I like but if the kid can't stay fit, he's not helpful to our cause. Shad needs a fresh start of a pretty awful last 18 months with us. Skipper I'm not entirely convinced is a real person even if Frank Lampard is supposedly his uncle and finally with Cirino he proved to be exactly what I suspected when I saw him in pre-season. Not good enough defensively to be a LB at this level and not good enough with a final ball to be a winger at this level.

Hopefully Gareth won't take too long to publish the retained list after the Shrewsbury match.

I have been watching Plymouth ( My adopted side) since Tom Cleverley took over as Gaffer, when they were bottom of the league.
It just goes to show what a good gaffer can do.
The motivation he has installed has been amazing. The home gates dropped to 6000, now back to 18.000.
A team that doesn't care who scores, as long as the team gets goals and points.
And now 2 points from the play-offs with a game to go.
We are just a pile of has-beens. This team would not survive 5 minutes in Div 1.
We also have a gaffer who I will never as long as I live, understand his tactics.
We have a whole summer to turn things around and get a team that wants to play FOOTBALL.
It's not just the players and gaffer, we also have long-term serving backroom staff, who definitely need to be got rid of

Think the list shows real intent from Ainsworth for next season and a definite acceptance that this season hasn't been anywhere near good enough. Will miss having The Cat inbetween the sticks but I think all of those released are justified.

Turner I think is at a point in his career where he just needs to go and be number 1 somewhere, not convinced he will ever progress any further by just getting 10-15 games each season. Cat going is sad but he definitely has made a few more mistakes this season than in the past.

Little had his option on another year taken up so he will be here next season.

Must admit, I didn't really want Little to kept either. If he still has the armband then he's guaranteed to start every week and for me, he just doesn't have the ability to be building our midfield around him.
