Positives, we took the game to Oxford and for two games in a row, all things being equal should have got a good result away from home, we missed Burge, Maguire, Gooch and Watmore, and they will return soon, McNulty scored again, Leadbitter and Flanagan played well, and all importantly, this result has not affected our league position one iota, and the manager will have seen again weaknesses he can hopefully rectifying. OaU.
On first look I actually thought he did it on purpose. He played really well the other week against Tranmere but it just feels like he hates being here
Certainly didn't miss on purpose for goodness sake.. he is a player devoid of confidence that's for sure.. Whether he needs to move on to regain his confidence is another matter..
Agree RAW, he's a professional footballer with even a modicum of pride that wouldn't allow such a thing happening, good on him for stepping forward in the first place, don't see many hammering McNulty for missing his kick but Grigg is such an easy target at the moment.
Have to ask where was our Captain for the penalties, was he going to be last or not bothering at all, he's got a good record from the spot and should faceless from the front and been first up. lead from the front Grant.
Or McGeady even, we have some good spot kickers, two missing, Gooch and Maguire of course, O/9's was a beauty as was Fosu's for them. I wonder who would have taken the one we should have been given. How nailed on was that.
I picked all 4 of the penalty takers we had. 5th was McGeady fir me but not sure who was on the list (didn’t get the order right but got the names right). I put Grigg in as his first goal for us was a superbly taken penalty. So before he walked up to the ball, yes!! But as he was walking up, no!!!
