Out of interest - who do you want to own our club? Glazers? - Leeches, vermin. No ambition other than commercial gain. Sheikh Jassim Al Thani - talks the talk but is he what he says he is? Jim Ratcliffe - United fan, runs Nice and by all accounts he’s a bad owner. Jim/Glazers - The vermin stay on board, hoping for the Super League to come, with Jim at majority shareholder, partnering with the Glazers, not a great start to a new tenure holding on to the maggots as you don’t have enough capital to eject them permanently.
Fwiw my preference is a Ratcliffe complete takeover but I’m not sure that’s even an option. I just want the club to be self-sufficient and not paying off mountains of Glazer debt every year.
Qataris - Buy outright, pay off debt, immediate investment in infrastructure/redevelopment. Radcliffe - Buys 51%, the leeches still have 20% stake. No mention of repaying debt or immediate investment in infrastructure/redevelopment. So how much capital do INEOS have beyond the purchase??? Ideally Radcliffe to offer what the Qatari's have but that's not going to happen. So I'll go Qatari's. Means fck all though tbh bcos the Glazers are only going one of two ways imo - either sell to Radcliffe on a part ownership. Or not sell at all.
I'm not really comfortable of joining in the owner by an emirate club, so would prefer it to not be Qatar. I'm just not happy about being more or less state owned. Ratcliffe full ownership would be ideal, and also debt free. The club more or less prints its own money beyond that. It's the debt that is the massive sticking point, it needs to be at zero. Obviously!
Just putting this out there. From the Chairman of the Armasite Group Apparently the newspaper owned by the Shaikh's father has also stated he's bought the club.
It would appear that today's story regarding the 'successful' Qatari bid originated from a Tweet posted by someone in Wrexham only for it to be picked up in Qatar where it gained traction. Weird, but good for the share price
Ratcliffe doesn’t have the full cash to fund the purchase. It will need to be through a bank of some sort. £5bn is a lot of money for any individual except for those that come from Middle East. The club also needs capital injection for infrastructure development which will be at another £500m in debt of some kind. Given where the club is, I don’t think Ratcliffe is a sufficient option needed to pull the club forward. It will simply be a change of owners on paper but with similar operations to the old. Only other option which would have been good is a mega-cap tech media company like Apple, Disney, etc, for media rights.
I doubt that anyone with as high a profile as Rio Ferdinand would proclaim the Qatari deal as 'imminent' unless he had access to some very good information, the fallout would seriously discredit him if he was wrong. Fingers crossed this time around.
Glazers haggling extras when £6bn is on the table like a tramp haggles for an extra 10p for a can of Tennants. All the money in the world but as classless as ever.
The club financials are due out this week. I wonder if that announcement will impact/influence the sale as it will provide the Glazers with a clearer picture of our trading performance in the six months since the sale (review) of the club was announced in November.
Rio doing his Mystic Meg impression again - 'teasing' some news on the club sale later today. I know you've got some media channels to plug Rio, but give this bollocks a rest..
It will be a gross miscalculations for the Glazers if they think that they can get away with going through next season without selling. The fans will erupt hell on them.
