It was incredible, the difference of how Trippier, Willock, Bruno play the game. There was moment when those plus Joelinton played the ball around, building, probing, then it went to Manquillo who swung in a pathetic cross their keeper caught under no pressure. Also if you think wood is ****; actually watch him - he’s way worse than you think. Ball gets pinged in, his first thought is how do I get it away from me. His movement is always towards their defenders, he never, ever makes a decent run. Hands down - and by a ****ing distance -easily the worst striker ever seen at this club. If he’s here in Feb I have huge question marks over the ambition of the owners and the judgement of the manager.
Last season there wasn't that much he could do about it as he played the only 14 players we had fit, and there wasn't an attacker among them. We don't have the squad to play a weakened team if we want to progress, and even then we have no divine right to go through. The players need to want it and the Sheff Wed players wanted it more tonight.
Not criticising him for his work. He just got it wrong tonight. No issues with him. The players let him down.
