A pointless signing - similiar to Upson, Woodgate & Crouch - so he could say we signed England internationals.......

I still would have liked to have seen him play more of a role and I think he could have given us something, but his name doesnt begin with "W"!

A Pulis trophy signing - nothing else.
He deserved a more fitting ending than to be left out in the wilderness by our pathetic excuse for a manager/ human being - I dub thee 'classless cluelis'

I loved Owen's tribute to his father - 'we did it my old.mate, all those frozen pitches as a young un, I coul not have done it without you'

A touch of class there Michael.

PS can you take cluelis with.you to muck out your stables?

Why we signed him I know not..

Would give my right arm to see him come on for half an hour and grab a winner for us but...

I fear that won't happen.

GREAT player well done Michael Owen... One of Englands BEST ever strikers.

Wouldn't go that far Potts, howsabout, scoring in the last minute to keep Stoke in the PL, running over to Pulis and decking the bastard.
Now THAT would be a fitting end to both careers

absolutely gutted he is retiring, ever likely though, he has been fit for long periods of this season and hardly EVER used. Pulis you are a ****ing ******.

Good luck Michael Owen for the future, how you have conducted yourself throughout your career is a credit to yourself

It will be interesting to see if he gets a start when we play United at home as a farewell.... or how about Pulis selects him for the last game of the season against Southampton... as they say on Mastermind..... 'I've started so I'll finish'

That's more like Pulis bring him on for the last 15mins against Southampton, just to show he's the boss, what a useless egotistical pratt!!!!

The sad fact is that if he had not had the injuries that wrecked his career, had not been overlooked by the previous England coach, who continued to overlook him in favour of another. He would have gained over 100 caps for his country and surpassed Bobby Charlton's England's goalscoring record. He could have retired after picking up the Premier league title or prolonged his career by dropping down the league but instead went on to join Stoke City. I only wish him well in the future.

Good Luck Michael Owen.
