As much as I agree with you that the manager of each country should be from that country because it does seem to defeat the object of internationals, that is a very extreme action to take!!! I'm geussing you read the Daily Mail???
Do you mean its extreme not to watch the games, if so i don't watch the games because they are meaningless to me it totally devalues international football for me.
I agree wholeheartedly on this one, at least for England. I don't have a problem with smaller nations being managed by foreign coaches cos it can help them to develop their game. But it is entirely ridiculous and so far it's been disastrous! I pray the next England manager is 'Arry. I wouldn't switch off though.
It just has no meaning for me anymore, i'm not protesting i'm just not really interested i hope that if the FA get some integrity and do the right thing i can get some interest back.
And as for other nation having foriegn coaches does not bother me i'm only worried about the England team.
You damn Daily Mail readers! (not sure what that was all about) Having a foreign manager, to me, is like having Lionel Messi in our squad. Much as we might like it, it's just not in the spirit of things. I'm sure there are a couple of your former managers who would be screaming about what's being allowed to happen to our national team.
It doesn't particularly bother me with the small nations, as Hamps said, but with us, it should be an English manager. That said, I hold no mallice towards Sven or Fabio who I do believe were/are doing their best in the job (no benefits in them failing). It's the FA's fault for picking them in the first place.
Don't blame them for taking the millions on offer at all, the blame lays totally with the FA. It makes no difference if they are successful or not though it is (in my eyes) wrong.
