the latest gimmick from BLACK LIVES MATTER in Bristol is to put a plastic statue of the woman giving the "black power salute" on the day COLSTON was criminally removed from the plinth … this is an affront the decency of all the lives in the world that … it further undermines the sincerity of the original meaning / intent of Black lives matter who are a very small minority in the lives of the world population
an interesting coffee morning … don't think I can report any of it though as it got a bit deep and dark! I guess peeps all over are getting fed up with BLM and some of their antics … especially not having consideration for real people who keep to the rules/ law/and mainly social distancing ! Angelic …. last night went for a walk after 2h 45 min finally made the pub ….! cheddar carpark up the side of the gorge to the top past top of Jacobs ladder ...along the edge still climbing to highest point then down to Blackrockgate ..legs just recovering walked on main road for 200m then back up to highest point and back to cheddar along the ridge.. an even steeper descent @ 60+ degrees on a stony path ...steeper than HILL STREET totterdown? by a few degrees more and over 200m before it shallowed! Pint was nice though different pub ..nice landlord .. was just closing said get all your beer go in the garden leave glasses when you leave so bought a couple each and left about 11.10pm 4.2 miles about 2.5 were flat ..ish
Bristol's black mayor reveals he has been racially abused by supporters of Black Lives Matter and Britain First in city's statues row Marvin Rees has received abuse from 'both sides' of the debate over statues The Bristol mayor revealed he has had thousands of abusive and racist emails They include messages from Britain First and Black Lives Matter supporters It comes amid row over the removal of statues of Edward Colston and Jen Reid https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...-abused-Black-Lives-Matter-Britain-First.html Poor old Marvin he is such a hero.
little bit of rebellion in the cabinet ranks ...whilst standing behind Boris hints at possible new returning from Spain [ and other places ] could be implemented. however there is no guarantee either way it could be safe! would depend on at what point the infection took place …. incubation is by no means hour positive …...
latest figures show 88% of all death's so far [ up to a date more than a week ago ] were over 65! But know the tide is turning on majority of those infected being in the age group 18 or so up to 45 [ ish ]. putting it bluntly the group that doesnt seem to have the intelligence to be able to comprehend they are the harbingers of a second possibly more devastating spike. meeting /gathering in groups ...like beach's tourist spots and protests with due consideration of the rules put in to place to respect the lives of all of us. for people going abroad I cant really blame them … it is not against the law … but an aeroplane is a confined space for 2 -3 hours or more … and made up of people from many areas of the population of the uk … just 1 person at the height of being infectious can infect 30 or so families.. just 1 of those families children and all failing to respect isolation can fuel an epidemic around their "contacts"... we need to accept the next outbreak will not likely have the luxury of freebie hand outs from the government ...maybe time to stock up for the future … with those canned goods that will last a year or so! flour spaghetti sauces canned meats crushed frozen veg buy seeds plant your own ..dig up the lawn for a cabbage patch ….
Presumably the younger people being affected is due in some part to illegal raves, sitting on beaches with half a million others, marches/protests/pulling down statues whilst not social distancing, and just not observing the clear instructions and advice they have all been given for the last 4 months or more.
YEP I guess so, now a lock down across the North Manchester area with N Wales / Wirral area creeping up. Best known figures indicate Bristol not far behind when we go fishing next week anyone getting to close will be told we are a group that is asymtomatic please stay clear! ...fantastic dawn with a cloudless sky today looking to be hottest day on record? … somewhere. BORIS s in league with SL! NOT TAKING ANY CHANCES... but on opposite sides ..wants to make sure he gets it right...anyone getting the city job has to comply to his thoughts on the way forward [ as can be seen with by the time being taken ] where as BORIS is hitting the button quicker …… The figures released yesterday on the "first few months intensity of covid " paint us in a bad light but the provisio of population and country acreage [population density] not readily applied. Italy cut in half and north treated separately would be monsterously bad. Spain can go into melt down OVER THE NEXT 2 WEEKS, not just the NE, I would be very dubious on gambling a holiday there ..better to pay a bit extra and go to one of the other 40 odd countries on the safe list. oh well coffee morning in a couple of hours better get a couple hours of sleep … before jit su!
WACKA MOLE TIME.... Boris is putting US INTO REALIZATION MODE ...all those inconsiderate A ……. HOLES who ignored SD crowded out pubs overwhelmed pretty little villages in beauty spots failed to keep SD in Supermarkets [ nearly ] all my bad experiences in Tesco / Homebargains / B&M were with peeps from the peeps it seems to affect most and I don't mean OAPs … GOING WRONG WAY or GETTING close enough to be taking the same item from shelf as you were …. no patience? or just ignorant ….. Boris is now talking tough, has stated when the money runs out and the help to businesses will stop .. a lot of the inconsiderates are going to suffer … my local pub the Concorde will hopefully get closed … have no issues with it … but the customers at the mo are inch's apart and needs just 1 to start to spread …. I keep myself to myself so hopefully most will get it ...serves them right for flouting the rules ….
just been going through the latest data regarding corona virus .. what is alarming is the number of people testing positive ...on a par with early to mid MAY!!!!!..ALTHOUGH DEATHS ARE DOWN....! there is a very good map to show the intense areas and BRADFORD has gone pretty serious about 70 sites around the country looking to be rather high on the danger list ...and you can see why 4m are under lockdown across the northern belt with a lot of individual areas in double figure cases. The other factor is they are areas of higher ethnicity … a factor not yet understood. gleaning more info on "them that have had it" antibodies do not seem to be a strong factor... either none or few and indeed some who had them have not now? [ or very few? ] did a quick shop in Proper job today to get some snacks and drink for Friday … and everyone seemed au fait with masks .. and a bit of hesitancy on "safety2" the good side of it … but none of the staff had masks on. traffic seemed back to normal! bath road was quite busy... about 805 of norm for time of day. local pub was playing the dodgy game of how many can we get into smoking area without touching for most of Saturday!
went to my 3rd different pub last night at 8.30 it was sort of packed … each "group" had it's own table just managing the spacing? ……. by 9 had a few spacings our group was the only non meal lot in there ! Ran out of our usual tipple so tried Exmoor ales "LEGEND" wished I was not driving … COULD HAVE MURDERED ANOTHER PINT! .. Waldegrave arms in Chewton Mendip £10 meal deal and fantastic food and sweets … go there most Tuesday nights ….. recommended
thick and fast ….. with the later start lost 4 games? the start of the season is going to be pretty intense the fixture list gives the opportunity for fringe squad starters to get some game time …. sad though that the atmosphere will be so sallow with no crowd or very little …… …. Christmas new year should we be in it ...Carabao cup game to start the holiday period! interesting thing will be how the "bubble effect" will work? eg is cricket ...players kept in a bubble whilst play is in progress [ over a period of time ] are players in "lockdown when they leave the ground … and family kept isolated also.. to a rigid regime? ] … how many players will call off a game... tested positive … 2 -3-4-? going to be interesting.
corona update …………… last 7 weeks ...ENGLAND Deaths 827 ave weekly 118 .. [last 4 weeks 226 ave 57 .....last 3 weeks 140 ave 47 ] Tests 7 weeks ave 1,071,707 [weekly ] ..last 3 weeks ave 806,381 ….down ! Cases 7 weeks ave … 5334 [weekly ] … last 3 weeks ave 4641 in hospital 7 weeks ave 590 [weekly ] ...last 3 weeks ave 252 on ventilators has dropped from 7 weeks ago ave of 190 to last week …. 65 …. when all 4 nations taken into account number of cases are gently rising!
so another shooting in the good old US of A ..NOT SURE OF THE DETAILS … so wont comment to much except ...if you are a criminal and continue to practice your evil art then when caught [generalization] you should give up without a fight or resistance should you be guilty... tough, justice is served … innocent then justice will be served. this latest protest, 3 now ? had heard about it but not really took much notice been excessively busy … but loads of innocents have suffered and the community will need to pay for the rebuilding and replacement of goods and items lost bit of an own goal ….. will read up over breakfast! [ a late one !]
read up on it and basically the full facts will come out .. just the one vbideo shot but only after he goes to car door after being requested to stop doing so … police have recording mikes no camera's so these will kept till they are analysed … he had an active police warrant for his arrest .. so "alledgedly" causing more trouble is not a good way to conduct yourself his and the police actions have now resulted in 2 fatalies and a serious number of injured also opportunity of the time honoured lets have a protest and do some looting robberies etc by the ill intent …..
I am beginning to believe there is a distinction between Black lives and Black Lives ….. the good and the bad … the vast majority, and I mean vast majority are law abiding intent on making their lives as comfortable as possible by working hard, blending in, integrating, and improving the society they live in … the infinitestably small proportion want only what they don't have to work for, get for free or acquire from others and the attitude is is fingers up to law...stay out of my face …. research is very difficult on crime in the USA … but it seems for a minority of the population "non white" people are responsible for the greater part of crime? … especially where weapons are concerned whether guns or blades. there does not seem to be any reaction to incidences where non white police officers [ mixture of races including white ] have been a part of a white person being shot/killed! It is very sad when anyone loses their life especially when there is an option to "to put your hands and protest your innocence " in a calm environment … most countries especially USA THE RIGHT TO SILENCE or an attorney .. is first case scenario [ terrorism may be different ] I have been a firm believer in all lives matter, which includes " the early BLM " protests but recent events and the twists this minority movement is putting into what was a "good thing" is wearing me down … .. the hypocrisy of companies and individuals jumping on the band wagon is not good for any of our futures. populations world wide have / and are always stood/ standing up against dictators and ne er do wells .. at the moment it seems peeps are trying to turn a blind eye, which gives a false sense that the activists are believing they are right, and lost in the mayhem is the real problem that needs to be solved ….
ouch...… wx has suddenly changed … rain stops and gets very much brighter that it momentarily hurts the eyes.....
WHAT IS IT WITH BCC they seem intent on killing off Bristol and its flourishing trading communities ...closed Bristol bridge after spending £millions of our council tax on improving traffic around an area of more than half a mile from temple meads...lunacy .. now they are sending out requests to people behind on council tax [ due to being unemployed due to Covid] stating how hard up they are with no funds to carry on everyday life! so lets Marvins mob spend all the money or what was left from the £m's from the airport ...nothing to show for that … complete all the road improvements left by last mayor [using our money to do so ], commissions the metro, cost millions but only benefits a few hundred and will take 100 years to ge any money back? ! then loses a fortune on the area where a stadium is to be built before ripping up the new road system and spending our money on what is a white elephant as now no point cars have to divert miles around it! ALSO BANNED THE very successful Christmas market that used to attract 000's to Bristol in the month before Christmas from miles away … and benefitted all the central shops.... Marvin and the Bristol City Council have an awful lot to be held account for ….. wonder what will be next? fill in the floating harbour … ?
have been watching a bit of the "odd" anniversary of LK's [ 57 years?] amazing speech … AMONG the First speakers a couple were quite good, then came the circus , the down grading, … why is there always an element that spoils things … this was being shown via BBC, BBC presenter did his best with interviews but it was still heavily unbalanced. I thought the tv interviewee's [ in usa ]made some interesting points / comments and was happy to sit there and listen ...although had jobs to do …. but presenter then threw in a couple of bones and the interviewee picked up on it and it degenerated, all the good the speaker [ USA side] had presented …..was spoiled a bit. hopping from tv to "live" speech ….. there was one clown [ face mask inappropriate as not covering much ] with an entourage, had a garbled shouted rant with pre conceived points of actions from his entourage, raising arm and shouting "something".. he, chief clown shouted and rambled so much do not think there would many who have understood a word …… rather than have a number of points that need to be addressed … I sort of got the impression none of the speakers … live or tv .. WERE PROFFESSIONAL ENOUGH to make their points.. stick to their points and leave them with clarity to the listener … instead they had to start to harp on about the "the past" as a sort of bitterness rather than using the moment as a stepping stone to the future. LK killed it back in 1963, he was clear and to the point so far, all those I have heard start well then get absorbed by the moment …
