That's what I love about football. Your team can have the most disappointing season in living memory and yet still you dare to dream that next season it will all come good..... Hope you're right nines!
Wow! Don't you mean just under 4/1? I mean its close to 25%, right? You're trying to steal my thunder here cos I'd guessed 25 which was pretty close. You've always had it in for me........
We will know after 10 games or so. But even then this horrible league is a marathon and a team can come from nowhere after Christmas. No matter what the stats say anything other than promotion should be seen as a failure - Harold is the best paid manager in this league by a mile, has stated that the objective is promotion, and now has to deliver it. I am confident ish, but we have no depth at the moment and need to sign squad players and some creativity before the end of the window. Expect to see Premier league loans en masse. If promoted, another clear out will happen. I would genuinely prefer us to build a younger squad under a younger manager with a more interesting approach and take a couple of years about it.
I still think you're trying to fu*k with me here Sooper. 67% would be 2/1, right? With 33% 3/1? Therefore 25% is 4/1. Right?
Ok, lets keep this simple. We only need an average of 1.89 points per game. Hull went up automatically with that even though they lost fifteen games and had seven draws in the process. A huge margin for error.
If you offered those sorts of odds as a bookie you'd be bankrupt in no time. 67% is 1/2, 33% is 2/1 and 25% is 3/1 as in 75/25...
I'd say we'll need more than that Ninesy. Hull was lucky to go up with that amount. P.S. I was informed you and Roller have been appointed Mods. Congrats mate. A more qualified pair I could not think of.
Cheers Swordsy. That's very kind of you to say that. I appreciate it. Btw, Leicester made sixth place with only sixty eight points. That is less than 1.5 points a game. Anything less than a play off spot will be disappointing.
I don't know. Nobody knows... I suppose this thread could be revived in maybe early 2014? Stats are interesting, but as a colleague of mine said that other day "numbers can be cut any which way you like ". True. Very true. Lets wait and see. Maybe we go up,maybe not. For now as I mentioned before, a good start so slowly slowly I suppose as the phrase goes
I'll answer this question Swords after our next two games. Then we'll know what this team is capable of
If we can win one of these next two away games then I'll know we've got the minerals to finish in the top two
