Personally I think there is some misintepretation on Comms part, how this section is administrated. He has probably seen me close threads in the past, and maybe assumed, that users can request for a thread to be closed.

His assumption is correct in that users can request for a thread to be closed, however, that is not an obligation for admin to do so.

The decision not to close his thread, was based on the fact that the topic is still relevant and of interest to members of this forum. That can be noted in some very lengthy replies, with peoples 'opinions.'

I think it's good to discuss the topic and good to see differing opinions. It's also good in comparison to a general politics thread, because no one gets shouted down, whether they support the israeli's or the palestinians and some people like me, just come along for the education.

On the educational side of things it's one of the best threads we've had for a long time. I did apologise for calling Comm a dickhead but I was rather bemused not for the first time on here, why he was asking me the question he did.

I'm sure he's known me long enough by now to know there is no malice on my part, I made a decision not to close the thread and I saw no reason to change my mind to his disdain.

Comm has done this before...when he once had 29 days at work in a row, 18 hour shifts. Told us he’s off for good then came back with the big reveal that he was just doing bare shifts at work
That's probably not good for anyone's mental health, honestly. Not enough sleep and no relaxtion at all.
Hope he takes a few days off and feels better for it.
