Blimey. I pulled tubby up on his derision of the sport.

If you want me to comment on his Humberside stuff, then get him to provide evidence to what he's saying.

But anyway, you're a mod. Why don't you clean up the thread so it stays on topic? Simple really.

Do you have a view on the imbalanced media coverage?

In the first post the op is on about Humberside saying 50k will watch the Hull derby at St James Park when its clearly (to them) more like 5k.

That was it. Nothing about the imbalance of reporting of our teams by local media.

It was just a dig at rugby league by a football fan.

So where did the 'imbalanced coverage' stuff come from? It wasn't there when the thread was started.

I read the thread. Did you?

Do you think such gross inaccuracies occur in football reporting by the local media too?

You are wasting your time. The pro rugby fans on this thread are too thick to realise that and just defend the game and the insanity of magic weekend which in reality is a massive flop.
Maybe rugby fans are that thick they actually believe some of the lies Radio Humberside comes out with.
The game imho is mickey mouse but if you listened to Humberside you'd think it was the biggest game in the world.

For the record I once went to a lot of FC games when I was younger.

To be fair the topic of this thread wasn't particularly well constructed, so it's not too surprising it has strayed.

I used to go to Hull, Rovers and City as a youth. Played both codes of rugby for a bit too. It is striking to see the defensive nature of some. It seems to betray insecurities.

It's not so much the straying, as the avoidance of the topic in favour of perpetuating myths.

We had a thread about Ferriby even the one about Grimsby was largely supportive, but when it comes to rugby the usual suspects turn up and slag the game. If I read right FC are top of their league, even if you think it is a mickey mouse one thats where they are, top. No bad thing for the City of Hull.

Back on topic, if anyone thinks Humberside are giving more / over-inflated coverage to rugby, as someone suggested take it up with them rather than a football forum. Do come back with the answer though.

People have taken it up with the radio station, and got a fair chunk of nonsense by way of reply. It gets raised on their programmes and dismissed too, quite often they then change the subject to rl.

City's media coverage is a very valid topic for debate on a football forum. I mean, we have threads for pictures of tarmac and cobbles.

I don't like the sport, and generally just ignore it. My issue with it, well the fans, ok, some of the fans, is the "I support our local RL team because that's what you do aint it? I also support Liverpool/TWS because Hull City are ****".

It's a sport played by thugs and watched by fat glory hunting plastic football club supporting ****s who are happy when City lose basically.

Not all, but enough to **** me off.

That's why some City fans have the attitude we have.
