Seen plenty about the area, no problems, just enjoying it. Even saw a young lass in a Hull shirt with her bairn in a pram at St Mary's Lighthouse, near Whitley Bay, good to see Hull be represented with pride.
Either way I find any Hull person, not you in particular, showing apparent bitterness toward any of the Hull teams just very ****ing sad.
Just a pity you've nothing better to do, as you're not correcting much of anything, just adding to much ado about nothing.
Something i thought about this weekend: those Rugby League players who, to a man, would batter **** out of the so called football hard men, have the upmost respect for their ref. The RL game and its rules got that right for sure.
Hit the nail on the head there TM. Rarely watch RL, and only ever on TV. But you only need 5 mins to see how it's got its act together. Utmost respect for ref. No feigning of 'injuries'. No cheating or diving to gain advantage. Still think it's a **** game though TBH.
Depending on the tide you might have to walk on water to reach it, so anyone who lives up here would know she would have been told it was Sid James gaff . . . . . . The surrounding rockpools, just like the pubs around Fenham (SJP area), are an easy place to catch crabs at this time of the year.
Do they do particularly well? Given the hype ( which IS what this thread is about) and opposition, I don't think their record stands up too well even in rl circles.
You Ull. I like both sports, well done to FC going top. And the respect thing for the ref, rugby league is brilliant for it, in fsct most sports are. It is just football that is out of control.
Yeah my old fella even does it. Texting and laughing when Derby went 2 up. Probably the attitude thats held this City back. Good job people didnt act this way during the 40s
It looks like people are responding to usernames instead of posts. I think the questions around the local media treating the sports differently are valid.
Apparently Campese was lucky to stay on the pitch when he touched the ref today... In Aussie he would get a three match ban.
I was also referring to the amount of non-league and amateur teams we have in the area. But that aside, Rovers and Hull have done particularly well over the last few years. Both in Super League. FC 2005. Rovers in the final. FC grand final. I really don't get this mentality of doing the RL teams down because RL doesn't equal FA Cup success or Football League promotions. Hull FC are top of Super League. Yeah I'm a Hull fan. Good times
It still doesn't really support your claim, and is still sod all to do with the topic of this thread.
You can see that 'success' in the RL challenge cup should be regular event every 3 or 4 years in a league of 12?
