That's one thing I can't stand: the name of a club followed by the ladies bit. What age are we living in? If I've jumped forward somehow and we're still in the Georgian era, how come the first team ain't burdened with the tag, 'gentlemen'? (Oh yeah, Joey B!) No, but really. I like the women's game but why can't we have the gender bit featured in the name of the competition like in tennis or athletics - and thereafter just leave it as QPR v Arsenal or whatever?
Thank you sir. Its good telling stories, but there's also always the suspicion that you are boring people. Should also confess that before that game I had a hankering for the Gooners........but that's hard wired genetics, at least 7 generations of my direct ancestors (the ones I share my surname with) from my grandad back were born and lived in Clerkenwell and Aldersgate/Little Britain, prime Gooner territory. Although Woolwich rather buggers up that theory, on reflection....
Good OP. I'm lucky as my whole family is QPR but I relate to the fact that many people have shown me kindness due to our current predicament. I have to say, though, - wait for the QPR blasphemy - my Chelsea mate has been very kind and supportive. I suppose now is as good a time as any to 'fess up. I have a Chelsea mug in the cupboard for his sole use when he's over for coffee etc! I am prepared to take whatever punishment the Mods deal out!!
Great line, thanks for sharing sb. Brix, good to see you're back to your old creative self. The production line is up and running again. Must mean this board is behaving again, less modding, more writing. Cheers.
Sadly my youngest is a Chelsea "fan". He's only ever been to one of their matches so far but misses nothing on the TV whatever the time. I know he has a soft spot for the R's because of his long suffering Dad. He maintains that if he ever gets in the team, he'll convert (generous eh?). He's in the UK at the moment, chasing his football dreams and will be at the Chelsea match (in the home end though!!!). If you see a tall lad wearing a Chelsea shirt with JAMES and 9 on the back; don't break his legs - he's my pension plan Merry Xmas all
Clearly neither of the words 'boring' and 'Arsenal' apply to you Stan - but they could follow each other on the word association thread!
Stan just for you......qpr v cardiff 1972, 3-0 to the R's.....happy memories....
