Personally think should change to Champions League where all the Champions go into. Then have a Uefa Cup where 2nd, 3rd, 4th and possibly 5th/FA cup runners go into from each league.

I don't think the big clubs would earn less. You'd have twice as many matches, so the revenue would go up a lot, and most of the new entrants wouldn't do as well as the big clubs, so the clubs that perform well would still get around the same amount.

Course they will. Simple maths - double the number of teams in the competition, and include more teams from the bigger leagues then you obviously make it harder to win. Adding teams like Spurs, Inter, Atletico, Lyon, Napoli and Leverkusen is hardly going to make it easier to win, is it?!

Please god no. After watching twenty years of the creme de la creme of European football I think people would kill themselves if they had to watch the champions of Iceland play the champions of Belarus for a place in the semi final of Europe's premier club competition. It would also make the competition ridiculously predictable - will it be the champions of England, Germany, Italy or Spain who win it this year?

Because it's not predictable at the moment? Have a look at the list of countries the finalist have come from in the last 16 years. Apart from 03/04 when Porto bea Monaco, it has been contested by a team from England, Spain, Italy or Germany on each occasion. I'd much rather have team's from France, Netherlands, Scotland, Russia contesting the later stages and possibly causing an upset.

Last 16 years of Champ League final.
    England v Germany
    Spain v England
    Italy v Germany
    Spain v England
    England v Englnd
    Italy v England
    Spain v England
    England v Italy
    Portgual v France
    Italy v Italy
    Spain v Germany
    Germany v Spain
    Spain v Spain
    England v Germany
    Spain v Italy
    Germany v Italy

My point exactly. It's already the same countries every year, under your plan it would be the same teams every year!

As for teams from France, Netherlands etc in the latter stages, I remember LFC fans making a big noise in 10/11 about what a disgrace it was that **** teams like Marseille were playing against Utd in the second round, and how it showed the competition was weak. And they were the champions of France. The current French champions? Bottom of their group with one point. How is ensuring this dross end up in the quarter finals by default going to improve the competition? The only people upset will be the fans who have to watch them!

Never mind that french team, remember Schalke in the semi <laugh>

More teams = more difficult. Not so, that's one of those stats things, it can just as easily work to your favour depending on the variables and how it works out and how it is formatted. IF the group sizes are doubled, easier for top teams, more bad games can be afforded. Same can be said for smaller teams, more chances but the odds are actually against the smaller clubs.

Being able to lose a few games and still win the tourney certainly makes infinitely easier to win it so if they double the group size you can afford to lose even more and still progress and win.

Doubling the number of actual groups will keep it as it was in the group stages though it will be one seeded team and three nobodies? that's even easier again so either way, this looks to be a good thing for the top clubs, more fodder<ok>

Money will be spread around better tho <ok>
