I would go fo Colback. Nothing spectacular but always tidy and makes it easy for the defence (when we have one).

I think Sissoko is a good player to have when you have tidy squad and team functioning well. If you are relying on the thick ****er to single handedly win games when your backs are against the wall - forget it. He has all the attributes and if you slotted him into Chelsea, Liverpool or Arsenal's squad, I have no doubt he'd look great most weeks..

Everytime he has Abeid and Colback sat behind him (comfortably our best central midfield pairing), he looks more at home. He gets to stretch the game and that roaming powerful box to box style starts to hurt teams. When he is asked to be one of the two he struggles badly in the PL. He just doesn't have the discipline. Personally I think Sissoko is a victim of the clubs stupidity. He is no world beater and not the most intelligent footballer. However in the right team he can be a very very effective weapon.

I think overall I'd have to go Colback.

I think Janmaat has been the surprise of the season, whereas with Colbacks background one would not expect anything less

Sissoko is the only player in the team who a) drives at the opposition b) commits players c) makes good runs from midfield to actually give the wingers/Janmaat options (which they're too **** to pick out) d) poses a threat against teams like Chelsea where we have little possession e) makes good decisions in the attacking third f) can control the ball without it bouncing off him at weird angles when he's controlling it, like it's hitting a five-year-olds face, as per every other Newcastle player.

Seriously, you'll miss him when he's gone.

Generally speaking he is decent but nothing special. He has some good points but too many weak points which do not appear to being addressed either by the Club or the player. He is not IMO in the same league as the likes of Cabaye.

Certainly not. Different types of player but Sissoko has none of Cabaye's class. Despite his fairweather attitude at times, largely Cabaye was very good for us.

But apart from that what has Sissoko ever done for us?

Every time we get a good player we sell them.
