I actually don't get how Wenger or Van Gaal could have so stupid. Saints are 2nd in the league mainly because of our defence. 5 goals conceded in 10 games. Stunning. Best in the 4 top European leagues. Why is this? We sold Lovren and Shaw and replaced them with Alderweireld and Bertrand. But we also signed Gardos. We have depth in defence, neither Arsenal or United have this. Having said that, we haven't had a single injury yet this season in defence which always helps. We've played the same defence since Alderweireld joined on deadline day so they've formed a great team at the back. And we've got one of the best midfield combinations in the league as well. Looking forward to playing both Arsenal and Man United soon.
A settled backline is very important. Its about 2 years since united had such a thing. Players like smalling, evans, rafael and jones are always injured. It doesn't allow us to build any partnerships or units. None of them are poor players but if they are not fit then we need a whole new back line tbh. Once its sorted though, united will be one hell of a team.
