If we can beat Utd at home in a couple of weeks then I think it will create a sea change with regards to this team's confidence, especially when it comes to the big games. We should have beaten them last year at home too.
I know, our record against Utd is woeful over the last few seasons, but I think this time around is one of the best opportunities we have. They look even worse now than they did under Moyes.
Utd have the fire power to bail them out even if there defence are shaky. I think they will get a mix of good and bad results and with falcao, rvp, Rooney and di Maria they have goals in the team and will get points from the bigger teams as they showed with the draw against Chelsea. It's a game that could go either way. I think we have the better team and squad but with the star strikers they have you can't put it passed them to score and get a result. If we have Kosc back in the team I'll be feeling more confident.
It's not just the results, we play like complete gimps against them every time. I hoped their hold over us would disappear with Fergus leaving but we were as bad as ever last season I've got a horrible feeling all their attacking players are suddenly going to click in that game
Last season away we missed Mertesacker and that cost us the game. At home we were so flat it was untrue, Utd were there for the taking and we wasted the chance. I do think there's a mental block against Utd which is why a win in a couple of weeks would be such a shot in the arm for this team.
We are far better now than under Moyes, points comparisons are overated, That said I can see the game being a draw
You've looked better in the last couple of games, but I wouldn't say there's been any improvement since Moyes was in charge. A draw is probably going to be about right though.
Definitely a dangerous fixture against Man U. They have a great deal of firepower at their disposal so we will have to be defensively sound playing them. If we keep a tight ship then we have enough to hurt them plenty, but if we sustain anymore defensive injuries, then we will have some problems. We will need our main two - Mert and Kos playing in this one.
Not really, not only do you have less points, but Moyes had MUCH harder fixtures aswell. Points comparisons are overrated? In that case Chelsea can call themselves Champions. I know City had 4 more points than us, but points are over rated. I kinda see what you mean in that your play style gives you far more optimism of future improvements, so I will grant you that, but at the end of the day, getting points on the table is what its all about.
A good comfortable win against Burnley to kick the month off. With the table as it is if we can string together a few wins in the league we will look in a much healthier position. Utd play city tomorrow and us in a couple of weeks and Liverpool play Chelsea.
**** it, i'm picking up where NPCE left off. We were brilliant today, shame for Burnley, they were really good too. Everyone was really good.
It was a good win today. If we can win some more games that would be nice. We'll probably win those games if we score more goals than the opponents. If we could have less injuries then we'd probably have less players out injured. We play some premier league teams in the next few weeks. And some champions league games too. We play our home games at the Emirates.
What relevance does this season have to last? Its a new team. Moyes had harder fixtures? Who is an easy fixture?
Okay so one game into November and it's 3 points and 3 goals. Let's hope this is the trend for the month
Is our upcoming game the decider? Winner goes on to take 3rd at worst while the loser joins tye battle for 4th. Im confident we will win but van gaals never faced arsenal (?) and is likely to play quitr a similar game to wenger. 2-1 united, van persei and falcao. Welbeck for you.
