Out if interest, a theoretical question: if we could only win one and lose the other, which way would you choose for the games against Liverpool and Spurs. ie. who would you rather beat of those two if we had to then lose to the other? I find this extremely hard to choose between. My venom for Spurs knows no bounds, but there are more ex-Saints players to want to embarass in the Liverpool team.
Oh stop with the really tough questions ... if, when push came to shove, I'd go with the closest to us in the league, so Spuds . . No, Liverpool because of Lovren and Lallana . . No, I have always disliked Spuds and now because of Pottechino . No, Liverpool. No Spuds No Liverpool Oh I don't know !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'd like to thank FLT for expressing exactly how I feel about this question! Could you not add a little sweetener, e.g. we are guaranteed to finish top 3 but we have to lose to one of them. Mind you, I'd still be struggling to pick which one!
Yes, so we can sing "He sits on the bench, he sits on the bench, Adam Lallana, he sits on the Bench" Then they both can come on and completely cock up for our winner.
Only Lallana may start, the others won't. I'd still go for Liverpool, don't begrudge Pochettino that much.
Spurs if they remain just behind us, but for sheer pleasure Liverpool...because Lallana let down a side he pretended to love and Lovren with his disrespectful attitude to a team that relaunched his career. So basically because of Lallana who let us down after being here for years and Lovren because he let us down after not being here for years.
Yes, I know that feeling. It's actually the flipside to the feeling of wanting to put them to the sword.
Yes, that was what I was really trying to get at. Assume we had got top three already. I was trying to gauge which team people hate the most. Sorry for the stress, FLT! For me it's Spurs - simply because of their lifelong superiority complex and massively inflated sense of entitlement. They feel to me like they are making a grab for glory via shortcuts. They respond to trends, hype, and opportunity - and they often have good taste in players (who they subsequently ruin), which makes it worse, as they get players I would either like at Saints, or directly snatched off teams like us. Liverpool at least have the history and undeniable attractiveness to players. Plus they're the only team we've played at least twice and have not got any points off since our promotion.
If we're guaranteed 3rd/4th in this hypothetical dreamland then I would pick Liverpool as two of my closest friends support them and I'd love to get revenge for the consistent jokes I had to put up with over the Summer.
Well the 4th spot will be between them and Arsenal so it's up to the pair of them to sort it out. We're above all that sort of thing.
So 6 out of 9 so far, we're 1 down on my predictions but can go 1 ahead with a win against the Hammers... would people be happy with 6 again from the last 3? I probably would as long as we beat Liverpool...
It will be pretty hollow beating Liverpool with Lallana injured, Lovren a laughing stock and Rickie not even visible. Beating Spurs in the league though. That will be priceless.
I could live with beating Liverpool if their whole team had gone down with the bubonic plague and we had to play the u12s.
In spades, mate. Two sons and a son-in-law plus their mates texting me all summer - revenge shall be mine!! Spurs? Who are they?
