Our next 6 games takes us upto mid November and almost a 3rd of the way through the season and the table will start to take shape... you know the drill, how many points from:

Stoke (A) L
Newcastle (H) D
WBA (H) W
Brighton (A) D
Burnley (H) L
Liverpool (A) L

Some winnable games there and some tough looking ones too. I'm going to go for an optimistic 11, comprising of wins against Newcastle, Brighton & Burnley, draws to WBA and Stoke and a loss at Anfield.

SAying that, that's probably not over optimistic, and considering the run we have after this lot we probably need to be taking at least 10.

Thoughts?

All winnable games IMO if we can manage to get those goals flowing....our strength will be in defence, so may throw in a few draws.

Stoke (A) Draw
Newcastle (H) Win
WBA (H) Draw
Brighton (A) Win
Burnley (H) Win
Liverpool (A) Loss (but by no means certain)

So that's 11/18.

Stoke (A) - win. With our midfield and defence I can't see them getting through, but I can us doing it.
Newcastle (H) - Win. Im going so it must be.
West Brom (H) - Win. Bog standard 2-0 win.
Brighton (A) - Win, should have too much quality for them.
Burnley (H) - win. Like WBA.
Liverpool (A) - win. Why not.

I'm a positive person.

We've gone for exactly the same. Great minds and all that... <whistle>

If we were scoring goals, I'd be looking for four wins and a one draw as a minimum. But we're obviously not.

That said, if we play like we did in the second half yesterday whilst also finding a way to get Redmond out of the team and Gabbi into the team (whether that be Gabbi out wide, or 5-3-2*; either way, I don't want Long dropped), then those goals might finally start to come.

*This is also a very easy way of getting Virgil back into the team.

If the team continues playing like we have in the last two for the next six matches then we could well go unbeaten, even at Anfield, we certainly don't have to fear going there. As I I have previously said, I can see a lot of 1-0 wins like the Hoddle days this season.

Agree although I can also see a few 0-0s and 1-0 defeats... Think we'll be a very hit and miss team for the next couple of months at least.

We'll beat Liverpool at Anfield. That's the only prediction I'm prepared to make, & the only one of those games I'd be willing to bet on.

I think we are at a bit of a crossroads here.

We are at the verge of playing with confidence. Win well against stoke, score a couple and I think the players heads will pick up amd we'll go on a run and win a fair few of those games and set ourselves up for a good season.

Lose and the players frustrations and doubts will come back and we'll struggle for the next few games and with the following fixtures - possibly the rest of the season.

Either way 3 points against Liverpool with a 1 - 0 vvd winner is an inevitability.

Very important to go into the International break with a win against Stoke. That would make our form 3 Wins, 2 draws and 2 losses....which would be a reasonable start to the season (if you ignore the fact that we might have hoped for more points against Huddersfield, Swansea and Watford).

Stoke (A) - L
Newcastle (H)- W
WBA (H) - D
Brighton (A) - D
Burnley (H) - D
Liverpool (A) - L
