Agree Ian, I don't have the concern others here and elsewhere have and think the wins will come with the improved squad (apart from Ings leaving). I, and others on social media sites, have been called happy clappers for having a positive mindset. Bit odd as I'm far from an evangelistic Christian who sings and claps enthusiastically.
I'm still in support of giving Ely a go for now. For me he's been the best of those four this season (very, very low bar, I accept). He does seem to disappear out of the game from about the hour mark onwards, which is absolutely a concern, but then that's why you have a bench. But up until then, he's looked reasonable. I'm not going to hold his very poor first season against him. That was a different time, partly under a different manager, and was his first experience of PL football. So I've very much given him a clean slate this season, and am essentially treating him as a brand new player. And on that basis, it's too early for me to discard him. Whereas Djenepo is now into his third season, and Redmond into his sixth. I wouldn't be adverse to trying Armstrong up front alone, supported by all three of Tino, Ely and Stu. Essentially 4-2-3-1. I don't know if it would work, but it brings the benefits of KWP in his correct position, no Redmond/Djenepo/Che, and a left footed defender at LB. (PS If Perraud isn't good enough, what are we doing spending an eight figure sum on him - but I suspect it's more a case of Ralph wanting to be loyal to KWP.)
Nothing wrong with having a positive mindset, you are entitled to your opinions. The issue we all face is when there are those on these boards who have a particular mindset (+ve or -ve) who insist on imposing their opinions on all and sundry and take on an air of superiority over everyone else. Its a little like religion, as you eluded to in your post.
Fair enough about Elyonoussi. He earned a few more starts, although if he doesn’t start producing soon I would drop him.
I wonder if these rude people have played much sport? I never took part with anything other than a positive attitude. Plenty of giant killing results testify and I have some get in there memories both team and personal.
Strewth some of you are very negative today. Mind you I can understand why. No I am reasonably optimistic so lm going to say 7/8 points. Not what we should be getting I agree but our luck has got to change or we will be relegated with our current form. Also I think the managers job just might be on the line with anything less to be honest.
From a Romsey Saint post "there are those on these boards who have a particular mindset (+ve or -ve) who insist on imposing their opinions on all and sundry and take on an air of superiority over everyone else." Rude or just plain ignorant?
and in a nutshell, the last 2x posts …. Edit: and not a serious dig, just highlights a major problem.
