levy will want the money back, so sadly we are stuck with the them. Another season of the jaffa strikers.
Oh, I'm not optimistic mate. you kidding?! haha I just think we'll have a switch up this summer. I don't think levy's got any choice. Don't think we'll spend fortunes (same old story), but I reckon there'll be new faces. To be honest, despite our need for a top player, it's probably never going to happen. So right now, I'll take 2 "Remy" types. (cheap buyout/unproven/etc etc) Just as long as I don't have to witness Adebayor in a Spurs **** next season.
Seen recently Remy mentioned as a target when QPR go down. Didn't we look at him and pass it on, not a Spurs type player. However having half a season in the PL scored a few goals does anyone think he might be ok for us now? As for the other strikers if Levy doesn't bring a couple of decent ones I think AVB might do his block!
Of course you've got to be careful about 'one season wonders' of which (as was mentioned) there have been very many! However, from what we've seen Benteke looks a good prospect, plus of course we can sell him "the Belgian connection" (goodness they've got a good team now!) Always worried that we'll get outbid on anyone by Chavski simply because they can, and no doubt will be wanting multiple strikers anyway. I hear they've got 21 players out on loan (not a joke by the way).
"On 25 November 2011, Osvaldo was apparently angry with Lamela after not receiving a pass during the 2–0 defeat at Udinese, and was fined and suspended by his club for punching team-mate Erik Lamela in the face." If he wants to take a free kick, better let him have it!
I think we felt very "meh" about him was because many of us were in hope of the marquee striker. I personally felt that he was similar to JD. Pacey, will run at defences and will pull the trigger. - I didn't see the point at the time of signing like for like. However, now i'm of the opinion that we just need some new half decent strikers. Remy and Benteke will do for me.
Don't worry, this Summer will be the Summer that we sign him. I'm pretty sure we said that last Summer - and possibly even the Summer before that...along with every January in between. It'll be the same old story - Levy will say 'so I'm going to bid a tenner', Inter will say 'try £35m', Levy will say '£15 and a packet of McCoys - final offer' and Inter will Meanwhile Sky will be like 'Tottenham and Inter are in deep negotiations over Damiao'...'deal edges closer'....'Damiao expresses desire for Premiership football'....'Damiao exclusive: "I'm ready for the English League"' etc. etc. That will drip feed us all hope and then come the transfer deadline day, nothing will happen. Am I a cynic?
What about: Lukaku/Hernandez/Damiao/Defoe/Benteke Someone just slip LSD into Levy's morning cup of coffee.
Strikers from the Italian leagues have always worried me recently when we have been linked with them as they don't seem to hold the characteristics required to be considered a success in the Premiership but their are always exceptions to the rule and here is hoping if we get him he will be one of those
I would take Carroll at the moment, i'm not joking. Lukaku would be a great signing for us, but Chelsea won't sell/loan him to us.
Gotta say, although HIAG was sort of joking... I would actually take him at the moment too Spurm! Jeez, how has it got this bad?
For those worried that he hasn't had many caps for Italy, to put it in perspective Zola only had 35......and he wasn't too dusty!
Andrea Silenzi got one Italy cap. Coincidentally, a national day of mourning was swiftly scheduled for the following day...
Remember all those striker who weren't good enough for Spurs? Crouch, Pav, Bent? Jesus - I thought Pav was pony but I never would have agreed with selling him if I'd have known that he simply wasn't going to be replaced. Once there was a time when Defoe wasn't good enough for Spurs. Now I (never his biggest fan) can't wait to have him back in the team - so woeful are our other options. This club has been thoroughly ****ed over by the continual, years-long refusal to understand that, miracles aside, you can't just keep selling your best players and trying to get by on bare bones. Our striker situation is the worst it's been for years and years. We're LIGHT YEARS behind the strike-force we had during the Berba/Keane (plus Defoe and Bent) days.
