I'm sure Rudiger is convinced about what he heard, but it's remarkable that he could clearly identify monkey noises in a crowd of 60,000 people.

Spurs have gone over hours of cctv/film footage, with lip readers, and can't find anything. I'm sure, as they have many foreign players and supporters, that they'll be doing everything possible to find anyone committing racist offences.

My point is that it's perhaps better for Neville to comment on things that have definitely happened rather than something simply alleged.

Every decent person would agree with Neville, that there's no place for racism in football ...

... but I did get a slightly uneasy feeling that he was trying to make it look like he was saying something that hasn't been said before.

This isn't 'his' debate, it's a debate for everyone, and he was saying nothing brave or ground breaking.

good points, I think they need to be sure about the 'noises' that were supposedly heard. Much like our chant for 'Gooooooooooooch' can be misheard as a boooo, ( we had the same with Mart 'Poooooooooooooom') there may be a chant with similar sounds to the ' monkey noises' which have been heard by the player. It could be a genuine mistake. I'm sure that modern technology can pinpoint what and where the noises were. If its genuine racism I hope they are charged, not just banned from the stadium.

So it seems our man was right to pull up Neville after all.

Imagine if the referee had, as some people believe he should have, stopped the game and taken the players off.

"Tottenham say there is no evidence to support allegations of racism from Spurs fans towards Chelsea's Antonio Rudiger during their Premier League encounter on 22 December.

Play was stopped during Chelsea's win at Tottenham after German defender Rudiger said he heard monkey noises.

A Spurs statement said the club and the Metropolitan Police had "now exhausted all avenues of investigation".

Spurs added that the police had closed the crime report on the matter."

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said, "Our enquiries suggest Mr Rudiger just needed to nip off for some last minute Christmas shopping."

I realise the train wreck was in motion before they joined but jeez if anything it speeded up before they had a chance to get comfy in their new non exec chairs.
The whole exercise has been one of mealy mouthed tokenism straight out of methven's playbook and perpetrated by dodgy donald.
Seriously what do messrs ' moanes and groanes ' really hope to achieve.
Every man and his dog knows these 2 have as much influence as a beggar on a third world street corner.

He appears to be very involved, committed and influential.

In this interview , just over an hour
in, he spells out why he's there and what his remit is. He's obviously very intelligent and passionate about the club ....

... after listening to this I doubt there's a single genuine Sunderland supporter who won't be pleased he's here.
