Stealing someone else's idea, a thread on the players we have loaned out.

Might be a bit more interesting this year with quite a few promising youngsters needing game time, rather than it just being journeymen we're farming out to run down their contracts.

Some genuine cause for optimism through the academy at the moment.

Joel C got of to a good start at clingo's neighbours, but suffered a reverse in mid-week coming off the bench in Cheltenham's cup loss.

Conte, ***an-Walcott and Evans likely to follow him out on loan shortly.

Tough on Evans who was a super sub v the Gas.

Definitely useful in a plan B. However he would not be in the top 20 once El Ghazi ready to play and Isaak fit again. Keep him until January maybe then look at a loan.

Conte didn't impress me after a couple of good games at the end of last season so a loan and regular game time will do him good.

Not seen enough of ***an-Walcott but if McGuinness goes we will be light at centre back unless there is a new arrival.

Evans isn't one I've seen enough of, though hear positive comments.

Yes, as with Davies, some players just need a season playing regularly in the men's game (rather than age grade) to find their feet. Even after he left, Harris has developed by playing week in week out.

CB is an interesting one. Most players in that position mature quite late. There are exceptions, but like 'keepers they seem to be mid-20s before they step up. Saying that, he's only a year younger than McGuinness. Bulut seems interested in playing Bagan as a CB, so perhaps he thinks younger cover is already there.

Any of our younger players should be demanding their agents get us out of the club ASAP.

They are being completely wasted by Bulut and Co and will only decline.

Joel is well out of it and the others will be as well.

Rumoured that Eli King loaned to Stevenage.

He had an opportunity against Bristol Rovers to impress for a first team squad place but IMO he was average at best. I believe this would be his fourth loan. He’s either good enough or he’s not, like Kieron Evans, so why give them contracts just to loan them out?

City are short on bodies in central midfield and Ralls/ Ramsey are injury prone. Maybe Bulut will keep Rhinomota?

Still struggling to work out why he was given a new contract just to be loaned out.
Maybe Erol has a long term plan, with younger players coming into the squad over the next couple years. He can't drop them all in together so wants a few playing men's football to get them ready.
He's signed a few youngsters as well.

Either that, or like the current CB situation, it's a bit of make it up as you go along.

Though you'd have thought that by 22 they are either ready or not.:emoticon-0114-dull:

In the 3 cup games I thought Conte had lost some of the shine he showed at the end of last season. Perhaps he thinks he's a winger but he looked better as a full back with the ability to get forward quickly.
