atletico and athletico both originally used saints kits
athletico because thats what they bought and atletico because that club was setup by Bilbao fans
my opinion hate the shirt but can live with it for a year (i am wearing last years yellow instead) bu all red???? Nope black shorts must return asap

A: I hope to God not. It comes to something when fans in Southampton are less important than fans in China.

Doubt it was to do with Asian market...after all our old kit included the colour red. Cortese would have been offered a choice and he (plus others) must have liked the look of it. We are a different Southampton now, so it may have been felt it was time for a radical change. Or there may have been no underlying reason other than personal taste. I like it.
