I thought the referee had a reasonable first half, but he lost the plot after the break.

Sadly, the penalty was a penalty.
But I thought there was an offside in the build up to Wednesday's last goal. So well done to the lino too <doh>

    Sorry, wrong thread really.
I don't think there was much more anybody could have done yesterday, given the injuries and the sickness.
Thought Vennings did OK for a debut when he isn't really ready.

Bowyer says that Taylor & Aneke have a chance of being subs at Middlesbrough on Saturday.

What on earth is going on with Taylor ?!

He’s suddenly smelt the money in his own backyard and thought “hang on better hang around on this gravy train”?? Just a thought

And to think, we were hoping he would be back in time for the Millwall game.
No disrespect to the starting XI and subs from last weekend, but if we go into the Boro game without strengthening, I fear it will be a home win.
We will have Purrington back presumably, but no Lockyer.

Twitter rumours tonight that free agent Joe Ledley is training with us *

(* - he’s one import from Cardiff that would be welcome)

Ledley was released in January, would just be another unfit player. I did like him as a player though but is it really something we need now if we have got money to spend would be better going for someone match fit surely

I thought the same. There is a player in there...but once again ....poor career fitness record and without a club for a reason.

I agree there's not much point us picking up unfit free agents.
We can't afford to wait four or five games for them to get up to speed (or more likely just get injured).

Better to hold on until January and sign some proper quality players who are already match fit and sharp.

I agree. I think Pratley and Oshi hold the fort quite well in the middle.

We need a centre half who can take Naby out of the firing line.

this takeover happened 5 months late. if we still had aribo and bauer all our issues would go away.

we signed better players, but they would have still helped out now.

Rich Cawley confirming today what the Sheriff told you ages back - that Joe Ledley is training with us.

He would be a poor signing , IMO.

He had just the sort of profile as a player that has dropped us in the brown apple sauce in the past.

Why not wait until January, and then pay money for players who are actually fit.

I thought Cawley had also said that Ledley was not looking to be signed by Charlton, he was just training with us to get himself fit to be picked up by somebody else in January (presumably a team in the lower leagues).

Good news if that’s the case. In other Charlton social media news today, it appears that our new owners could be in the market for Josh Cullen in January.

    Excellent.

I envisage Cullen becoming proper Charlton

if the new owners want to sign players of cullens standard, it's a really good thing. we have a very good base to build on - no one contracted, so a clear out and fresh start will be cheap and easy.

hearing things about 3 from bournemouth... <doh>

Ledley has signed a short-term contract. Impressed Bowyer in training, what more can you do?

Thanks Mr Cawley. Next time I won't be so quick to pass on what he says.

Kayal and Hemed apparently impressed Bowyer or Gallen.

Good old Ackers was the first to call Joe Ledley for which he received much derision on CL.
